Kyle Ure has joined Ayr United on a season long loan and is listed as a substitute for today’s League Cup tie away to St Mirren.
The midfielder has been a regular in Celtic’s Lowland League side for the last two season but now steps up to the Championship with Ayr expected to be heavily involved in the promotion race.
Last Saturday Jude Bonnar made a scoring debut on loan for Ayr against Arbroath with the young Celts now in at the sharp end of the professional game, outside the Academy bubble.

There has been no announcement of a Co-operation Agreement between Ayr and Celtic, that would allow three players to come in on loan, return to Celtic with a different player sent to Somerset Park.
Ure was in action as a second half substitute for Celtic against Sporting Lisbon last week, now he has the chance to work and learn under one of the best central midfielders that Scotland has produced this century.
With three wins from their League Cup ties to date a win away to St Mirren will give Ayr a seeded place in the draw for the last 16, a draw or defeat opens up a variety of options with the home side going into the match on seven points.
Next Sunday Stephen Robinson’s side switch to the SPFL Premiership with their opening match away to Celtic.
This is a development that hopefully we can benefit from in the future imo?
Hopefully Corey Donovan can be added to the list for next season.
We need these potential youngsters playing at a higher level than lowland league football, in order to make the adjustments to first team football far easier for ourselves.
With Scott Brown in place at Ayr, then would like to think that this arrangement could benefit ourselves hugely in the future
