Luis Palma has completed his loan move to Lech Poznan with the Polish side having an option to make the deal permanent.
Two years ago the Honduran was playing for AROS in Greece before a late August transfer to Celtic, he spent the second half of last season back in Greece with Olympiakos making Lech his fourth club in under two years.
Palma had an impressive start to life at Celtic, contributing a glut of goals and assists but that dried up in December 2023 with little impact made afterwards.
Last season he started just one SPFL Premiership match before moving to Olympiakos where his prospects didn’t improve with the Greek club opting not to take the move further.
Palma started this month at the Gold Cup in Canada, on Tuesday night he could be involved in a Champions League qualifier with Lech hosting Icelandic champions Breidablik in a Second Round qualifier.
Discussing the new signing, Lech Sporting Director Tomasz Rzasa told the club website:
Luis Palma has been loaned to us from Scottish side Celtic for a year, with an option to buy. This is also our response to the health issues that have arisen within the team.
We wanted to acquire a player who brings tremendous quality and is a perfect fit for us in terms of his profile. He has considerable international experience and has excellent goals and assists in both Greece and Scotland.
He scored goals for Celtic in the Champions League. Now it’s important to integrate him into our team as quickly as possible.
Palma’s departure makes little difference to Celtic’s options, it is almost 18 months since he was regularly involved in first team matches.
