Jude Bonnar needed less than 10 minutes to make an impact on his Ayr United debut.
Announced as a loan signing before today’s League Cup tie at home to Arbroath the young Celt came off the bench in the 66th minute with Scott Brown’s side leading 2-0.
Bonnar wasted no time in announcing himself, scoring Ayr’s third goal just eight minutes later against one time Celtic youth team ‘keeper Aiden McAdams.
The exact nature of the loan move isn’t yet known, it could be part of the Co-operation Deals now available to Premiership clubs or a stand alone arrangement.

Bonnar made a brief first team debut for Celtic against Aberdeen in February but the signing of Ben Nygren provides Brendan Rodgers with six live midfield options.
After two seasons in the Lowland League stepping up into the Championship at the age of 19 is essential for his development- with the bonus of working under a club legend in Brown.
Ayr finished the match 4-0 winners, on Tuesday they travel to Forfar Athletic before completing their League Cup campaign next Saturday away to St Mirren.
After losing out to Partick Thistle in the Play Offs last season Brown will be hoping to go one better and follow Falkirk and Livingston into the Premiership.
Got to say that loaning players out at a higher level has eventually caught on a touch and not before time.
Playing in the Lowland League never did and never will make any sense and god alone knows why we ever do/did so.
However, in another place, that was an excellent performance from The Bhoys at CP today. If the bean-counter exraordinaire hadn’t fu**ed up again a lot more supporters would have seen it in a capacity CP crowd and carnival atmosphere except for a few dumb Geordies with a butcher’s apron and 4 stupid, senseless words on it. Fortunately the GB were there before them, as always, with Fuck The King, Feed The Poor.
Anyway, an awful lot to be happy about with another proper game and great result.
Trusty probably deserved his MotM appearance but there were many, many great performances with 4 goals and a clean sheet. I’d have to say Kenny looks more a forward mid player than an out and out striker but he gets stuck right in and doesn’t give in. Aye, we’re moving well but I still have misgivings leading up to the qualifiers and Lawwell’s thinking and parsimony are typical of the piece of shit he most definitely is.
Great result – If only a pre season friendly !
