Usually wouldn’t give the loathsome Martinjail or his cuckoo club the steam off my Scheidt but I assume we’ll have the sense to include the obligatory clause preventing him playing against his parent club. Don’t see what the player will get out of working under a coach who makes Buckfast Barry sound like Pep Guardiola though – I can’t see him improving in an environment like that.

   1. Absolutely correct, Cap’n, not to mention a plastic pitch that should be barred from pro football. But ‘Peter’ thinks it’s okay, and Peter being Peter knows what’s best at CP and, no doubt everything throughout the universe!

      1. I’d almost forgot the plastic pitch. I try to think about Livingston as little as possible TBH. They mustn’t reckon the lad Montgomery has any sort of first team future at Celtic so just sending him there to play for a move at the end of his contract.

3. Sevco’s Findley Curtis seems quite a decent player but like Montgomery and McArdle and the rest he would never have been given a chance at Celtic.

   Rangers always come good in these early European games because they never stop running and it often catches out the supposed technically better opposition as did found Celtic to their cost.

   The passing game Celtic play probably wastes around 40 mins futering about when they could be attacking and then they start trying, even MacGregor, if they find themselves down 20 mins to go.

   I was hoping Martin was going to bring in a passing game and therefore lose the energy but it seems he resorted to type and well we saw the result and they will easily go through as very few managers, Including Mourinho and Rodgers know how to deal with it.

   Doesn’t look good for the Glasgow Derby if Celtic don’t change their midfield and tactics which I doubt BR is capable of doing.

   1. I would like to add that the biggest problem at Celtic is laziness.

      Laziness in preparation at the transfer window, in management with only having plan ‘A’, players commitment on the field with that stupid 3 yard passing game, in coaching as no players seem to improve unlike say Christie when he went to Aberdeen.

      It permeates the whole club and seems to personified by Peter Lawwell’s big grinning bawface.

      People, the players train, for the most part, all week to run about a park for 90mins, compare it with your own job, and give their all but spend the time sauntering about being midfield chocolate generals. Passing and then pointing where the ball should be played. You know who you are.

      It doesn’t matter who we sign, we are in for another season of nonsense.
      The Newcastle game was an aberration.

      …and yes this frustration comes from the result last night.

            The Greek manager admitted he didn’t how to prepare against Sevco because the players were new but I just think he watched their past games a came to the conclusion he didn’t know how to deal with non-stop effort.
            The minute you lose the ball to them you are suddenly under attack and compare that to Celtic’s tactics which allow the opposition to organise while the midfield and defence are playing with themselves.

   several were in the top 50 of their category analytics for UEFA.

5. St you make a very valid point and one I had not considered. I assumed 99% of the fans would prefer the type of football which devastated Aberdeen a while back, a team that beat us in the cup final.

   Statistics?

   I wonder what percentage of fans like yourself are happy with tippy-tappy football for want of a better word?
