Reo Hatate is on course to play his part in Celtic’s remaining pre-season friendlies.
The midfielder was involved in every single match last season until he was brutally wiped out away to Aberdeen by Pape Gueye.
It looked nasty at the time, Brendan Rodgers was furious with the ‘challenge’ which was right in front of the two dug-outs.
Steven McLean felt that a yellow card was the proper punishment, backed up vy John Beaton on VAR.
Hatate cut a sad sight in the dug-out at Pittodrie, he was on crutches for SPFL Presentation Day and badly missed at Hampden in the Scottish Cup Final 10 days after he sustained the injury.
Rodgers has a couple of injury issues to deal with in pre-season, after beating Queens Park last night he told The Sun:
Cam (Carter-Vickers) had some issues around the end of last season but we decided this was really important for him and he needed that to get the operation.
We knew then the recovery time would mean he’d miss a week but he’s back working again and, hopefully, be ready for the next few weeks.
With Reo, was just a shame for him. He’s had a few extra few days but he’ll come back in and he’ll be fine. Jamesie should be okay for Cork.
Having a fully fit Hatate ready for the bulk of pre-season training is a major boost, restoring the option of five players in that role boosted by the signing of Ben Nygren.
Celtic play Cork City on Tuesday before travelling to the Algarve for intensive training sessions and two friendly matches.
So auld menaldy aka Spew Heevins was at it again last night on SSB,running Celtic into the ground because they won’t spend any of the £25 million that will been banked this time next for Kyogo and khun together but nothing spent on replacements.
He then goes on to say if they want champions league football this season they need to spend a chunk of that £25 million.
Someone should challenge that auld fart then,Celtic need to spend part or a good chunk of the £25 million they have to get into the champions league, but meanwhile sevco are bringing in nickel&dime loan players one or 2 for undisclosed fees 6 figure purchases but no mention from that specky auld fud about sevco having to spend big to qualify for the champions league.
You couldn’t make that up.
All the signings sevco are making and still nobody really out the door as yet, just how are they managing to keep adding to a bloated squad at a cost.
Somebody somewhere om these blogs has maybe been telling porkies, for a klub supposedly in a bit of a financial state they seem to ticking along swimmingly if you ask me.
We’ll never find out anything about Sevco now or going forward Joker…
And The SFA certainly won’t be interested either !
