The consequences of four managerial Revolutions in four years can be found in Russell Martin’s Champions League squad to face Panathinaikos.
Seven summer signings are in the squad, including Lyall Cameron and Oscar Cortes who the club were already committed to with three of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s big signings from 2022 not involved.
Ridvan Yilmaz, signed from Besiktas for £5m won’t face Panathinaikos while Ben Davies, a £4m signing from Liverpool and Rabbi Matondo costing £3m from Shalke 04 have also been left out.
Robin Propper, signed for £2.5m a year ago from FC Twente is also left out as he waits to be offered a suitable pay off before returning to the Dutch club.

Kieran Wright, Leon King and Robbie Fraser are included since four club trained players are needed, Liam Kelly is the other with Ross McCausland failing to make that back door route into the squad.
Despite the hype and excitement from some Connor Coady isn’t in the squad, or even the same country but if he is signed before 11pm on Monday he can replace someone like Bajrami or Jefte in the squad.
Four weeks on from the EGM that converted the club into a private company there is still no announcement on the £20m share issue that was to boost Martin’s transfer war-chest.
I think the £20 million investment was always just a euphemism for Season Ticket holders money.
But that is a lot of professional fees to be put aside for such a crucial encounter!

We have Jefte to thank for Kuhn’s transfer: after his assault, Khun sh@t it and downed tools for the rest of the domestic calendar… Should we be thankful or would we have got a few mill more had the corrupt Scottish refs done their job and applied the rule to Hun players?
Agree, Kuhn had no balls for a fight. Hid after being kicked.
Editor: Perhaps if his employers had called out the kickings Kuhn took in the LCF and at Ibrox on January 2 he might have reacted differently- rather than looking for match officials to apply the laws of the game they were encouraged to turn a blind eye.
Maybe Don Robertson as well – He was the ref that bricked it for sending Jefte off !
