It doesn’t get much worse for a central defender than finding yourself behind Robin Propper and Lyon King for a starting place.
Back in February Clinton Nsiala was hooked off half an hour into Barry Ferguson’s first match in charge with Kilmarnock leading 2-0.
To be honest 2025 is turning into a bit of a nightmare for the former AC Milan despite the excited comparisons delivered by Ross McCausland as the Ibrox spin machine started to go through the gears.
Today he watched some comic cut defending from Propper and King, Nsiala has already been told by Russell Martin that he won’t get a look in at first team action in this season’s Revolution!
In January after three first team matches McCausland provided an interesting comparison with:
He (Nsiala) has been amazing. Even the last few games you know watching him.
Us on the bench, were saying he was like Van Dijk, like a left-footed Van Dijk.
It’s great to see. He’s been ready for his opportunity and he’s taken it.
Discussing the absence of the French starlet from the 2-2 draw with Club Brugge today new boss Martin tried to be as diplomatic as possible:
As for Clinton, well we signed Emmanuel and I think Clinton’s at a point in his age where he needs to play all the time, every week.
So we’ve had a really good, honest conversation to let him know the situation really. The best thing is to find the best opportunity to play football.
With three years left to run on his lucrative Ibrox contract Nsiala won’t be leaving any time soon with a big pay cut inevitable wherever he goes next.

Mccausland was getting mixed up with meant dick van dyke.
Ah wee McCausland the guy that hit every branch of the ugly tree when he fell out of it,he must be getting mixed up with Dick Van Dkye.
McCausland looks like the stuntman for the wee guy that plays the banjo in the film Deliverance.
U wud think he wuda made his cash playing Syd the Sloth in Ice Age.
More Dick than Dijk methinks. Just like the rest of them.
There is some mind bending lunacy that comes outta that bastion of bigotry that is Liebrox for sure !
Watched their new ‘world beater’ yesterday, Fernandez. Brown was waxing lyrical about him. His second touch was a tackle, slow and ponderous, if they paid 3.5 million for that, well. I know it was probably 3.5 million Turkish lira, if the Scottish press said that. it would appear that Real Madrid and AC Milan can stand down, their superstar defenders will be watching the new season from the subs bench. Roll on two weeks time, when we get their version of a Greek tragedy. Out of Europe quicker than the French army.
