Real Betis have joined the phantom race to sign Nicky Raskin.

After a couple of caps for Belgium the Daily Record are all on board with attempts to sell the midfielder for Dembele Dollars.

A month ago Aston Villa and Leeds United were leading the £30m chase for Raskin, to the surprise of no-one outside of Ibrox neither club has made an offer to the 49GERS.

So far in the transfer window none of last season’s serial losers have been sold, with Russell Martin adding six new signings the pressure on the wage bill is growing rapidly.

The Daily Record has delivered a constant diet of upbeat stories throughout the transfer window with another whopper added today:

Now Spanish outlet muchodeporte claim that Betis have Raskin on their radar as they hunt midfield replacements.

American international Johnny Cardoso has left for La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid, while William Carvalho looks destined for the exit door as well.

The Portuguese international failed to report last week for pre-season testing and could well be on his way to Qatar.

The Seville-based club have seemingly identified Raskin as one of a number of replacement options this summer.

It would mean forking out a significant fee however, with Gers keen to avoid repeating past mistakes and letting their best players leave for nothing at the end of their deals.

Meanwhile, the Record adds:

One player who won’t be arriving at Ibrox is Metinho. The player dubbed the ‘Brazilian Paul Pogba’ had been linked with the Light Blues and a £4million fee quoted.

However, Basel are on the brink of making his switch from Troyes permanent after he helped them win the Swiss Super League title last season.

A few weeks ago Metinho was being compared to Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Roy Keane by the Record, unfortunately he seems reluctant to join up with Martin’s Championship and League One Allsorts.

Ibrox noise or football insider one or the other or maybe even both slabbering over each other about Ronaldo Raskin as one player replacing 2 at some Spanish club, then you have another a think it’s a 19 year old goalkeeper being praised as the best player in the world heading to sevco.
Just what is it with that klub and the ARSEHOLE journalists that constantly lick the ARSE OFF the sevco klub and all their signings, they are always the best players that everyone is looking to sign.
Then they throw in a few players they want to sign but can’t help themselves but say Celtic are interested in the same player,so should they get the signing done they beat us to it with the pretend player going to sevco.

And still the players keep piling up at ibrox without any leaving, that wage must be swelling at a good auld rate.

  • The Joker says:

Just think of all them bang bangs heading ibrox way,it must surely be about £70 million smackers for 3 players Ronaldo Raskin,Morrocan Messi and Serial Loser.
Then throw in £40 mill smackers if sevco qualify(well £30 million if Celtic qualify)for champions league and before you know it they have the same cash in the bank as us.

Surprised sevco haven’t put a 100 mill price tag on the little fella…sevco funny lunny & stuff.

  • the maister says:

Raskin plays his International football the football the way he plays for sevco.
Booked ten minutes into his debut!
