Celtic fan media continues to grow at quite a rate, evolving on from the pioneering days of eTims and a few blogs that published now and then.
An industry has grown up alongside social media to provide supporters with alternative news and opinion from the tired, predictable and dull output from legacy publishers that have been on the go for more than 100 years.
Newsquest caught onto that market in 2021, much like the publishing of The National it wasn’t a concept that they believed in but with 45% of the Scottish electorate ignored they came up with a pro-Independence newspaper to support the massive declines in the print circulation of their other titles.
The Celtic Way was born from the same motivation, trying to provide content for Celtic fans while elsewhere in the Newsquest Group they live in complete denial over the events of 2012 when The Herald carried a front page on the death of Rangers for refusing to pay Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.

Hail Hail 67 started life as a genuine Celtic fan media outlet, no one doubted the credentials, commitment or passion of John McGinley and Hamish Carton as they delivered daily Celtic news and opinion.
Those two have moved on, HH67 has expanded to the point that they are publishing an incredible amount of Celtic stories every day. Picking up on the most contrived links while treating seriously the comments of the most ridiculed pundits on the Scottish media scene.
When you reproduce the ramblings of Ross McCormack or Tam McManus with any authority you aren’t going to gain any credibility among internet savvy Celtic supporters.
Hail Hail 67 have taken things a few steps further than that with Gary Kirkpatrick delivering news for Celtic supporters without even trying to cover his tracks on his Hail Hail 67 biography.
It is difficult to imagine why anyone would want to put together that sort of bio to gain credibility on a site aimed at Celtic supporters.
Knowledge of a club that died in 2012 has little relevance to Celtic’s current transfer activities. Thirteen years ago a different club refused to pay their way, leaving 276 creditors high and dry ranging from newsagents and taxi firms to Police Scotland and Glasgow City Council, oh, and there was also a face painter that went unpaid just like HMRC.

Fair play to Kirkpatrick, on Tuesday night he prepared a transfer update for HH67 to be published at 6.10am on Wednesday morning, around an hour after Kawasaki Frontale announced that Shin Yamada had been sold. That story moved quickly overnight, except for readers of Hail Hail 67.
Hopefully the season ahead is as painful for Kirkpatrick as the last couple.

Another fu**in Pathological Liar !
What in the f**k is he doing on a Celtic website then !!!
There are a lot of crap contributors on 67 Hail Hail. If I see an article by Kilpatrick or Amir Mir I just ignore them as I know they won’t be worth reading.
They are a weird mob over there although paddy sinat and jamsie forrest are besties are you incl paddy among the dross ? Just because they conflate 67 and HH in one line it does not make it a sellic blog ey joe
Fooling Celtic fans that’s what! Joe has nailed it as usual.
The Celtic Bhoys is another that should not be touched.
Aye, there are quite a few pretend Celtic sites as supporters of the deceased Old Firm try to keep that shit alive. Note to lurkers: OF died in 2012 along with Rangers FC.
I tend to look on here, Celtic Blog, PMGB’s site, Kerrydale Street, and eTims.
Editor, please note correct spelling and case for eTims. Thanks! 🙂
I also occasionally check Sentinel Celts and The Celtic Star which I believe/hope are genuine Tim sites. The rest, as far as I know, are phony and exist for click-bait purposes only.
To me, real belief and trust only comes when I can cross-reference things in several ways and rumour is then replaced with fact.
Editor: Read Celtic by Eric is also the real deal. eTims, now corrected.
What an editor!
What I said is true but I didn’t mean to bother you with such pedantics but thanks for taking the trouble! 🙂
I’ll keep “Read Celtic” in mind. I’d hate to think I ever gave any of the myriad, phoney, hun-influenced sites so much as a ‘click’ although I’ve been known to have a quick lurk on followfollow to see what those credulous cretins are coming out with. Guaranteed a laugh at ‘them’ and it takes the poison of Lawwell outa my system for a bit.
It doesn’t matter who the contributors are on that site, it all reads like ChatGPT. It’s a shame how low it’s sunk since Hamish Carton left.
Read Celtic are the real deal. Are you serious. He is copping abuse on his site because of the nonsense that he writes. , check it out. Sticking up for your pal is all your doing. Happy clapping at its finest.
I rate Celtic websites on numbers of contributors on their comments section.
Another thing, your right Happy clappers are cringeworthy, I would ask though that you look at your own site. There is Plenty on here.
Thanks Joe you’ve confirmed my doubts, I asked James about them and even though he doesn’t do replies because his friend is involved I asked anyway, what concerned me was a celtic site taking about when rangers got relegated, really! No celtic fan would say that, not surprised ?
Patrick, you probably know all this but there are quite a few who don’t.
Before the toxic 5-Way was contrived, Doncaster admitted “there is no mechanism” for keeping the original huns alive. He later lied in public saying “…it is the same club, absolutely.” And he’s got some ‘legal’ in his background. Probably a tea-boy in one of the masonic solicitors’ offices who was elevated to the ‘dizzy heights’ of a conveyancer or such-like. He’s a proven numpty but that masonic shit throughout the UK certainly knows how to look after its own. With all his wit and charm he should be ‘relegated’ to the sewers along with Lawwell and Co.
lol i just checked that profile you screenshotted and gary now says he is a celtic fan!!! he must be confused, couldn’t make it up
