Celtic are reported to have had an offer for Adam Obert rejected by Serie A side Cagliari.
The 22-year-old has picked up 12 full caps for Slovakia where he is mainly used as a left-back while playing as a central defender for his club.
Earlier this week Jahmai Simpson-Pusey was signed from Manchester City to compete for a place in central defence suggesting that Obert is viewed more as a left-back to compete with Kieran Tierney.
