Jan Willem van Dop has taunted Michael Nicholson over his horrific recruitment record.
In January the Celtic CEO was high-fiving with his boardroom colleagues the sale of Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes while Brendan Rodgers was giving Daniel Cummings his one and only first team appearance a few weeks later.
Seven months later Nicholson has still failed to deliver an adequate replacement for Kyogo with Rodgers now going through a similar scenario as he waits on a replacement for Nicolas Kuhn.
Celtic’s recruitment team identified Jakob Breum as someone to succeed Kuhn on the right wing with iron-man Nicholson tasked with the job of negotiating terms with the player and his club, Go Ahead Eagles.
After an initial offer of £1.5m was rejected Nicholson came back with offers of £1.75m then £2.5m for the £5m rated Danish internationalist.
Against St Mirren Rodgers was forced to include Yang Hyeun-jun on the right-wing with Nicholson and his boardroom chums watching on from the refurbished seats in the Celtic Directors Box.
Discussing the interest in Breum from Celtic, van Dop told Algemeen Dagblad:
There was some interest from Celtic for Jakob Breum, but we felt the gap was too wide.
Things moved very quickly around Oliver Antman and Glasgow Rangers. Celtic could have taken a leaf out of Rangers’ book, haha
Nicholson has less than one week to strengthen the Celtic side for the August 14 signing deadline for the Champions League Play-Off.
Two additional signings can be registered by 11pm the night before the first leg is played, the mark of a truly dysfunctional football club.

Think on this for minute,£70-100 million in the bank and they ain’t spending a bean of that on a a descent player,now that’s the take om things with cash in the bank,think about shite and dross that will be rolling up to Celtic Park if no money was there.

Well, if you put a lookalike George Formby in charge of being the Celtic CEO and to negotiate transfer deals, there’s only one thing that can be said … “It’s turned out Shite again, hasn’t it?”.
The real joke is on the supporters. I wouldn’t let Nicholson into Celtic Park tour let alone the boardroom. Pygmy standing on the shoulders of giants. Hasn’t done one worthwhile thing in the whole time he has been at the club. A bigger wage thief than anyone there has never been!
Nicholson and lawell need removed, f**kin pronto. Lawwell is an egotistical prick and is behind all the negativity towards br, engles and idah. The press have done a real number on idah and reduces his confidence to f**k all and also made out engles is a bad footballer also.
Its no wonder their form dipped from other performances in the cl to barely getting a game. Had they been playing for the huns and scored 20 goals in a season mostly from the bench or in engles case two motm performances and double figures from midfield and capped at International level for Belgium they would be lauded to the high heaven.
Don’t believe me? Look at raskin in comparison to engles. Scored about 4 goals last season and the press were trying to get the mankies 20m for him and hes done f**k all
