After getting the full build up earlier this week Nobel Mendy has pulled out of a dream move to Ibrox, providing another snub to the Russell Revolution and the 49GERS.
Following last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Dundee the Real Betis stopper was being presented as almost a done deal with a place in the UEFA squad a certainty after today’s debut at home to Alloa.
Chris Jack of the Rangers Review, the most loyal and unquestioning of messengers, presented it as a fair accompli alongside some glowing profiles of the 20-year-old with 107 minutes of football in La Liga on his CV.
A fee of between £3-4m was being reported Keith Keith Jackson praising the Ibrox negotiators for getting the sell-on clause reduced from 50% to 20%! Alas there will be no sell-on, not even the initial transfer.
And then it all fell kind of quiet, there was a sort of Connor Coady embargo as the speculation suddenly halted, all the stories about how impressed Mendy was by the fans, the 13 years old history and Russell Martin’s soccer philosophy were quetly binned.
Hopefully there’s another couple more tweets like this from you this week Chris ??

And then today
Mental to be signing such an unknown talent anyway. Even the Betis pundit didn’t know anything about this guy, since he’s hardly played!?????

Martin was unusually snappy at Friday’s media conference, it seems that the combination of poor results, hostility from fans and the stalling of spending from the 49GERS is starting to effect him ahead of a very tough schedule of fixture that includes playing St Mirren after performing a U-turn on the trip to Paisley.

One would have to be as high as a balloon to even consider a transfer to that rotten kip..!!
Have a little peek under the hood & sevco.have, and should have any potential signings running for the hills–at speed!!!
