Harry Brady of Celtic Underground has launched a wholly inappropriate foul mouthed attack on Dermot Desmond, using the sort of language that would get you taken off air with any responsible broadcaster.
After Celtic’s Champions League exit to Kairat Almaty emotions are bound to be raw but nothing justifies the language used by Brady or the unfounded claims made about the involvement of the Irish businessman at Celtic.
If Desmond, a non-executive Director holds an undue influence over decision making and policy at Celtic it is the job of the other NEDs to hold him accountable and apply best practise.
Brian Wilson and Tom Allison have both been non-executive Directors for more than 20 years, their job is to hold the club accountable, to ensure that the CEO runs day-today policy carrying out the vision of the Board of Directors. In the best interests of the shareholders.
Desmond currently owns 34.54% of the shares in Celtic through a company called Line Nominees Limited, the biggest individual shareholding but transfer business should be the domain of CEO Michael Nicholson.
CAUTION: The podcast below contains a high level of swearing.
23 minutes
If Dermot Desmond wants to phone me up, I’ll have a whip round and we will tell him to F**k Off. Because he is 100% responsible for the strategy of the club around not signing players, it is, absolutely, 100% his decision making to be some sort of Billy Big Balls, Donald Trump Lite, I do deals at the end of the window.
Some fans might associate that description with someone else at Celtic, in the summer of 2018 Peter Lawwell outlined his vision for Celtic during a Celtic Underground podcast with Harry Brady.
We are probably going to bring in three or four players, regardless of losing tonight we are still going to bring in three or four players because he is f***ing magic and licks his balls at night to show everybody how wonderful he is because he makes deals in the last minute of the transfer window.
Well that’s a f**king waste of time because we’re out and even if he signs the players we could f***ing bury them at the weekend.
Even if we signed fu**ing Maradonna, Messi and Ronaldo tonight their not going to be playing on Sunday.
Only two of those suggestions are possible.
Doesn’t f**king matter who we sign because we’re not going to have them ready for Sunday because the team isn’t back and training until Friday.
The manager is not going to stick whoever we sign straight into the team so being Billy Big Balls and ‘Aren’t I great negotiating at the end of the window’ …
It’s like loading a shotgun then pointing at your foot and then complaining when somebody has just pulled the f**king trigger.
No matter how animated, angry and emotional that you get there is absolutely no justification for that sort of language and rant to be made public, especially from someone in their fifties that appears to have contacts inside Celtic Park.
The claims about Desmond’s role in transfer activity can only come from well placed sources relaying that information to Brady, he must have been reasonably well known to Lawwell before being given the 2018 interview, many would assume that contact has been maintained down the years even though there has been no follow up podcast.
It remains to be seen if Celtic will call out Brady for his comments and unfounded claims or simply ignore last night’s podcast.

worry about your own comments
Good on Harry brady opening his mouth and not worrying if Celtic media won’t throw him a crumb , see that’s whats fkn wrong with you bloggers afraid to say what everyone in the stands would say
Editor: Can you specify who ‘you bloggers’ are and what we/they are afraid to say?
When the transfer window slams shut,
our club will have delivered yet another hefty transfer surplus.
Job done!
And that’s about it.
Additionally,
with 50K+ ST holders and virtually guaranteed matchday income & merch / sponsorship / TV revenues…
the club doesn’t really need make any ‘progress’ in Europe?
OK, a bit sarcastic but ambition is simply not required for “the business” if you want a steady stream of profits…?
And from the above blog: is this indeed DD’s preference?
If so, then replacing PL & MN ain’t going to change anything – at all.
That Brendan wasted money on Idah and Engels (not trusted for the starting 11 last night) and has no tactics beyond passing back and side to side?
You know what I would like?
To sit in front of PL and ask him if an offer has been made to secure the services of a top class manager beyond next season, and if not, why not?
I’d ask him why do they not want a manager that has a proven track record of delivering domestic success in spades, and also capable of, on last years showing, improving the clubs results against the best in Europe.
I’d also ask him if he doesn’t want BR to extend his contract, who are they looking at as a like for like replacement?
I suspect that the chance that these questions may be put to him and his cronies is the reason we see and hear nothing of them.

What’s with the pearl clutching in this article? Podcasters can say whatever they like – it’s fan reaction not national news? Your content here doesnt swear but is much more harsh on lawwel and Nicholson (rightly) than normal media.
Are you looking to defend DD for some reason?
It’s not a first for harry either if you remember the Lennon meltdown post ferencvaros…again I sympathised
