John Clark’s grand-daughter Clare has thanked Celtic fans for their love and support following the death of the legendary defender during the close season.
There was a mix of emotions before today’s match against St Mirren, Paul McStay unfurled league flag 55 before a minute of applause was held for Clark and John Fallon.
Within a few weeks two great Celts, two Lanarkshire men passed away with their lives forever linked to the club that meant so much to them.
Thank you to all the Celtic fans for the incredible love and support shown to our family over the past few weeks. Celtic meant the world to my grandad and we know he meant the world to you too. Your kindness has brought us great comfort. ??? pic.twitter.com/3gVaqcsiQX

Clark and Fallon knew the grim days of the early sixties then enjoyed the successes under Jock Stein which included the celebrated 1967 European Cup win in Lisbon.
After Celtic Clark played for Morton then returned to his home from home as Reserve coach, assistant manager to Billy McNeill and finally in 1997 with the title of kit man but his role was much more than that.
Team-mate Jim Craig watched from the Directors Box, after struggling for large periods an 87th minute shot from Luke McCowan was deflected into the net to give Celtic a winning start as they chase down title win 56.

Now sevco are back to playing catch up once again in the leagues first game of the season, watch out for a couple of squirrel stories doing the rounds tomorrow, one from Pizza face Jackass Jackson himself and 1 or 2 others from his sidekicks at the same paper.
No doubt another £10-15 million player getting a mention with the option to buy.l,and especially should their midweek champions league game hit the SKIDS.
Nice Tifos there in loving memory of two great Celts !
