The Russell Martin Revolution came to a grinding halt at Fir Park tonight with two points dropped in the SPFL Premiership opener.
James Tavernier opened the scoring in the 13th minute with the visitors having the best of the first half.
After the break it was one way traffic towards Jack Butland’s goal but Motherwell’s finishing was similar to Panathinaikos over both legs of the Champions League qualifier.
In the 87th minute justice was done when Emmanuel Longelo arrowed a low 12 yard shit across Butland to the delight of the home support.

Both teams had chances in the four minutes of stoppage time but it was two points dropped with a 1-1 draw in the first match of the Russell Revolution.
It looks like the 49GERS will have to provide their new soccer toy with additional funds, at the final whistle Tavernier and his team-mates were booed and abused when they went to acknowledge their fans.
On Tuesday Viktoria Pilzen visit Ibrox in a Champions League third round qualifier with the Czech side given the weekend off from league action.
Kilmarnock drew 2-2 with Livingston in the other SPFL match played today, next Saturday Steven Pressley takes Dundee to Ibrox with a tea-time kick-off to pick up an extra £75,000 from Premier Sports.
Andy Halliday was left on the Motherwell bench.

Why comment on them let’s stick to the hoops there nowhere near us he
Editor: I will cover anything I like, any set-backs for them causes great joy and delight, if it upsets you stick to the Record and BBC for good news tales.
Well I watched it cos I’m not very mobile just now.
The amount of fouls Tav committed was unreal, yet it took toll the 92nd min to card him.
And that Gassamo or whatever he’s called, inside 3 mins he was faking face contact in the box when there was none…he’s been briefed on the refs hasn’t he.
McLean was horrifically one sided with the whistle.
And managed to magic up an extra min on top of the 4…..wonder what the injury time wuda been if it was still 1-0 when the board went up?
For them he will never be Mr Martin. He won’t do suits ties n brogues. He’s done already with the staunch.
We badly need to up our game when we play them
Let’s WIN Tomorrow and let them Fester , Martins comments on Sky are bad then bbR after the game are not so damming why ,been told to calm it .James you Joe and Eric say what the majority of Celtic fans feel . I love they’re Pain to James
Love their pain, we do however have our own house to get in order.
C’mon the Hoops
Standing ovation tomorrow for The Maestro, Paul McStay was up there with the very best of his generation. I remember him coming to the fore for Scotland U15s against England U15s when he ran the show with a magnificent performance. I also recall one foggy day at Celtic Park against Hibs when Paul completely dominated the whole game with a supreme performance, in a way seldom ever seen, leaving the field to a standing ovation from all present.
Like Bobby Lennox, Danny McGrain and just a few others Paul McStays ability was only matched by his modesty and humility.
Lovely guy…as is his brother Willie…Lovely family.
Thanks keeping me updated on Sevco matters as I don’t read any of their stories anywhere else.
I’m the same David – I specifically like their misery so I do !
