Scotland’s most successful club were given a heroes welcome when they walked out at Ibrox today.
With 120 major honours won despite the handicap of paying Income Tax and National Insurance on all wages Celtic have overcome all of the odds to be out on their own.
Five trebles in the last nine years have gone a long way to reaching 120 with the 1967 European Cup success in Lisbon the greatest ever achievement from a Scottish club.
As Callum McGregor led the champions out The Best by Tina Turner blared over the PA system with even the home fans showing their respect for the first club to be champions of Scotland 55 times.

Sadly that was about the highlight of the day as Celtic laboured to carve out any genuine chances while Russell Martin abandoned his attempts at Pep-ball in favour of blootering the ball towards the corner flags.
Celtic had two second half shots on target which was two more than the home side managed throughout the match.
At the final whistle the home fans turned nasty on new boss Russell Martin, after four SPFL draws it seems that there isn’t much faith that the vegan Buddhist in the dug-out is going to lead the Ibrox club to the fourth trophy in their short and miserable history.

Hey Jim I see the editor is trying to be fly with his wee dig in about the Livingston game and us big boys of Europe slipping 3 past them in the league,the league is nickel&dime,very disappointed that the editor tries to paper over the cracks with a win against Livingston,FFS they have Pablo Escobars teaboy as the manager.

Joe , when I slag off the poor displays by Celtic and Scottish football in general I always have a dig at liewell and golf heed desmond,I know they are hindering the manager have done so for years and I have called them out for that umpteen times.i still think BR s tactics and his intransigent approach to plan A is causing us problems as well,we should have easily had enough skill to get past carrot almighty and sevco but the tactics never changed even when it was obvious they weren’t working.as for the 300 minutes I was referring to Almaty and sevco who we never laid a glove on.its one thing beating teams like Livingston but we need to up our game or this season will be a borefest,and I do feel those charlatans on the board have stymied us for years but as I always state,as long as we buy STs , merchandise etc this board will never change why would they?
Editor: While the CEO is trying to sell off every player possible and his guru is briefing his messengers to undermine the players at the club you have no chance of progress or development.
Things will not be better with Maloney, Brown or Mark Wilson in charge next season with Lennon back as General Manager/Director of Football. Calling out BR is utterly pointless while the CEO and Chairman are active.
