Yogi Junior didn’t hold back as he watched Celtic crash out of the Champions League to Kairat Amaty.
While the players and management under performed over both matches this was the outcome of a plan put together and executed in the boardroom by the shameless lawyer and his accountant guru that drive policy inside Celtic.
After two batches of goal-less 90 minutes Celtic failed to score in extra time then missed three out of five penalties
Last season Celtic collected 12 points from eight Champions League matches then took Bayern Munich until the 179th minute in the Allianz Arena before being knocked out.
That ought to have been a springboard to progress, something tangible to build on but for those obsessed by money, generating profits and paying Corporation Tax there are other targets and goals.
The rot set in a month before the 1-1 draw away to Bayern Munich.
Nicholson spent the build up to the match against YB Bern finalising the sale of Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes, he had no interest in finding a replacement or improving the team.
Celtic made £40m from UEFA for five Champions League matches last season, with a flicker of ambition it could have been more.
Nicholson chose to retreat, grab last season’s prize money and sell two of the key players that created it. This season they’ll get a £4m consolation prize for losing in the Play Off.
Utter disgrace! Two unforgivable performances with some inadequate players & very many poor performances, plus a manager incapable of changing the outcome.
A breathtaking dereliction of duty by the board, given the funds available. The manager & players are also culpable.
Nobody…— John Hughes (@yogijunior3) August 26, 2025
Despite knowing that Jota will be out until 2026 Nicholson pushed ahead with the sale of Nicolas Kuhn, again no thought was given to signing a replacement let alone an improvement.
Nicholson also had plans in place to sell Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun but Rodgers stepped in to stall them when he realised that his CEO had no intention of signing replacements despite sitting on £80m in the bank at the end of June.
While the team has been starved of investment since the start of January a campaign from within has been underway to trash the manager and any signings costing more than £3m.
Rodgers knows it, the players know it and their agents know the joy that selling player causes in the Celtic boardroom.
In Kazakhstan last night the quality of the squad was seriously diluted, over the remainder of this window and the next two what’s left of the quality built by Ange Postecoglou will be sold off while a new look management team prepares to build a side around the returning talents of Maik Nawrocki, Odin Thiago-Holm and Luis Palma.
Yogi Junior knows what is going on, more and more Celtic fans are coming round to his way of thinking as they watch a potentially exciting side undermined and sold off in what can only be described as a managed decline.
Last time I was this disappointed was the Covid season. Can’t believe this glaringly obvious, utterly predictable shitshow, was allowed to transpire.
Failure to hold the executive to account is simply treating the support with absolute contempt.— John Hughes (@yogijunior3) August 26, 2025
How do you rate Celtic's transfer business
OUTSTANDING- exactly what the team needed
ON HOLD- They'll come good by September 1
HORRENDOUS- Looking as bad as 2023

Any happy clappers out there still defending this board? If there are you aren’t Celtic fans – you’re green Huns. Yang and 47 year old Forrest starting a CL qually – what could possibly go wrong? For the best, as this side would get annihilated in the CL proper. My appeal to all true Celtic fans – please don’t buy the Europa League ticket package.
Jamie G surely there are no more gullible supporters who would even consider buying the Europa league passage, they’re not that stupid are they? Well possibly because the scoop up all the STs without even knowing what our board are going to do with the money, another point going by the shit show of the 2 games against carrot almighty,we will get horsed in Europa league as well,if Almaty who are ranked 311 in uefa rankings can stop our plan A tippy tappy sideways back to the goalie pish ,I’m sure the Europa contenders from the big 5 will wipe the floor with us , unless we change our style of predictable boring eye bleed tactics.
And they think they’ll deflect this by parading a few new signings!
The revolution will not be televised, it will be blogged.
Totally agree with you, the money in the bank is not DD or any other shareholder, that money belongs to the club , I’ve already asked the question about why Dominic McKay was asked to resign, did he have serious plans on how Celtic should go forward, and it possibly met with disapproval, all bills are taken care off , so why not spend £20m on three players of quality and not sell our assets, it would not make that much of a dent in the long run. do our board really think that our continued success will damage the Scottish game .
Are the performances down to the fact the players know the manager is leaving and the board have fecked him over.
Has that realisation bled through the squad?
That no matter how hard they train or how well they play, the money men are actively playing a part in denying them the very thing they signed up for ?
I know when there’s a dick at my work sabotaging and generally being a fanny, I and others disengage.
The whole thing is toxic.
No matter what you think of the manager, the buck stops with the money men, it’s the same in every business.
There’s a few swords needing fallen on, and I sincerely hope Lawell & Nicholson are the first two on theirs.
Only good thing about last night is Im glad were out and avoided some serious hammerings that could’ve rivalled Sevco’s record.
