After four seasons of good luck karma has caught up with Michael Nicholson.
Taking over as CEO from Dom McKay is September 2021 the ‘leading sports lawyer’ was able to hang onto the coat-tails of Ange Postecoglou and Frank Trimboli as two motivated and ambitious individuals forced success onto Celtic.
Nicholson appointed Mark Lawwell as Head of Recruitment, Postecoglou moved on with Brendan Rodgers managing to secure the double despite being handed Marco Tilio, Odin Tiago-Holm, Yang Hyun-jun, Kwon Hyeok-kyu, Maik Nawrocki, Luis Palma and Gus Lagerbielke.
Nicholson has avoided scrutiny, kept his mouth shit and hoovered up a salary far in excess of his ability with the year to 30 June 2025 expected to reveal income of around £1m.

Since the turn of the year the Celtic CEO has been a man possessed as he weakens the team to bolster the bank balance.
Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicolas Kuhn were sold without attempting to sign replacements, now in the final week of the transfer window Nicholson has binned the notion of a managed decline by putting his foot on the accelerator.
While selling off Adam Idah he leaked news of interest in Kasper Dolberg to a friendly reporter with no real intention of signing the Anderlecht striker.
Early this afternoon it became clear that Dolberg had no intention of putting his international place in jeopardy by joining Celtic, tomorrow he will sign for Ajax.
Nicholson was then all over an offer from Chelsea to take David Datro Fofana on loan, a few hours later the striker has decided that Charlton Athletic is a better career option.
Celtic have until 11pm to sign a striker with all eyes on Kevin Nisbet or Simon Murray turning up at Celtic Park for a dramatic arrival.
Free agents can be signed once the transfer window closes, Celtic’s network of messengers will soon be putting the horrific transfer window down to uncertainty over the future of Brendan Rodgers.
