Chris Sutton has delivered a typically blunt verdict on Celtic’s summer transfer window.

Often it is open for debate over whether a club has strengthened over the course of the transfer window but in Celtic’s case there is little doubt that the team has been weakened.

At the end of last season there was an expectation that finally signing a replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi would be a priority move- but not in the eyes of Michael Nicholson.

Not only did he not replace Kyogo but in a deadline day swoop he sold Adam Idah to Swansea having already sold off Nicolas Kuhn at the start of July.

All that from being in the strongest financial position ever in the club’s history with somewhere between £80-100m gathering interest and Corporation Tax.

Sutton isn’t the only one at a loss to understand Celtic’s transfer activity, many fans are suggesting actions to withhold money from the club such as Europa League tickets.

There has been no official comment out of Celtic today, it is unlikely that anything will be heard from the club before Brendan Rodgers previews the match at Kilmarnock a week on Sunday.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Might be a dumb question, but

does the club actually employ any PR professionals

or retain any external PR resource…?

Editor: The club has two in-house PR nodding dogs that would struggle to get an Admin Assistant job in their local council, PR consists of trying to keep sweet with the Daily Record.
