On July 2 Celtic launched a fan survey, with another batch of Season Ticket money secured the club felt bold enough to try another of those fan engagement boxes that they need to tick every now and then.
Like the Fan Forums that occur a few times a year the survey had a purpose to fulfill, go through a variety of questions, find out the views on the matchday experience, catering etc and a few questions about future aspirations.
An expanded standing section was one batch of questions, it is an issue that other clubs are looking at after Celtic were the first in the UK in 2016 with their rail seating in the lower Lisbon Lions Stand where it meets the North Stand.
Announcing the survey on their website Celtic said:
Today the club launches The Celtic Fans’ Survey 2024, and we would love to hear your views. This will be the biggest ever survey of Celtic supporters worldwide, commissioned by the club as part of our ongoing commitment to fan engagement.
Celtic completed a fan survey over a year ago. They have had the results for several months.
While the Celtic data will be far greater than this one, there is reluctance to even publish the results to fans/respondents.
The club needs a total reboot with a fan-engaged outlook. https://t.co/EYyf4azs1T

The survey had to be completed by 26 July at 5pm, very precise, at that point it would be handed to University of Strathclyde’s Business School to assess the data and provide the club with the results.
Most fans would have expected the results to be published before Christmas 2024, probably earlier.
Modern technology of an online survey shouldn’t take too long, the delay has triggered some suspicious minds to suggest that it produced the wrong results.
With each passing day the results are becoming more out of date, leaked minutes from Friday’s meetings with Michael Nicholson claimed that there had been a problem with the data which has been transferred to a different company to complete.
Typically the club has decided not to share that information in public, supporters took up 25 minutes of their time, 98% renewed their Season Ticket for 25/26 and have had no acknowledgment of what is going on.
The minutes from the same meeting revealed that the Barrowfield Training Complex is now open and fully functioning, something else that the club is keeping quiet about.
Celtic seem to be in meltdown now over the crashed relationship with supporters, after years of aloofness and self congratulations it seems that a lot of chickens are coming home to roost for board members lost in time with the events of the summer transfer window tipping things over the edge.

The way our Board handled the 5 way agreement…RES 12…and the EBT scandal..Oh and DD confirming that Rangers were alive and well…earmarked them unfit for office way back then…But guess what folks ? They’re still here …and wealthier than ever…We get what we deserve.
It’s good to gear that Barrowfield is actually open.
It was our biggest infrastructure development since Lennoxtown was built and the silence from the club was baffling.
It’s almost as if our media team couldn’t find it despite it only being a couple of hundred yards from Celtic Park.
Well regarding the unpublished results of the survey…
I don’t call that bastard Nicholson ‘Lord Lucan’ for nothing for sure !
Who’d be a PR manager at Celtic just now?!
This chap has a challenging week ahead, at least.
What could be a tipping point?
BR going off script at the presser? (Would be very surprised if he did – but quite happy if he did.)
Or, a player having a pop at how the club is run? (They must have a lot of gripes?)
Or, just a good old fashioned fan protest outside the main entrance?
Whatever, something – obviously – has to change.
Nicholson isn’t saying anything cos he ain’t sure if he could actually accurately remember everything PL wants him to say, and neither is PL….so nothing it is.
Thankfully there’s a real coming together of our supporters and no amount of ‘spin’ will change that nor alter it’s viewpoint: Sack the Board!
Personally I think we need a small number of leaders in the spirit of Plunkett, Pierce and Tone to successfully march forward and completely remove what sits in our boardroom, never to be replaced by similar, capitalist, tory scum again.
This is Celtic FC, not PLC, and a lot of us are made of the stuff of rebels.
Let’s seize the moment, elect a few suitable ‘rebels’ and back them to force through the desperately needed change. (I nearly said reform but that’s been stolen by a very sneaky snake and followed by right-wing filth similar to what oozes into Ibrox every coupla weeks.)
