Russell Martin won’t be walking away from his lucrative three year Ibrox contact.
After 12 matches in charge the former Southampton boss has a record of three wins from those games. Last season he was sacked by Southampton after picking up five points from 15 EPL games.
Today Hearts won 2-0 at Ibrox to leave the Ibrox Tribute Act third bottom of the SPFL Premiership with four points from five matches played, three of them at Fortress Ibrox.
Throughout the match the home fans were regularly chanting ‘Martin, Martin, Get tae F**k’.
Asked about those chants Martin said that the fans were entitled to their opinion, when he was asked about fans wanting him to resign he replied that some didn’t want him to be appointed in the first place.
Angry fan media outlets led the questioning, true blue bears that have emotionally invested in previous Revolutions and know that the annual autumn managerial change is about to get underway.
Martin explained that the players had been awesome in training but were scared on the pitch due to the atmosphere around the club.
Next week Hibs visit Ibrox in the League Cup, the mood inside Ibrox tonight was that Martin has to be sacked but that decision will fall on Andrew Cavenagh who has only been to watch two matches this season.
Ambassador Barry Ferguson is on stand-by with his staunch management team in waiting not taking up any hands on jobs since their Ibrox contracts expired.
Earlier this season Martin claimed that he was turning a tanker and that he had been phoning his Mum to explain that he was loving his new job despite the levels of hatred and abuse he was getting from Ibrox fans.
Martin spent part of the International break at a tree hugging convention.

Huns been saying shankland would score goals at Ibrox.
Shanks scored twice and they all boo.
Can’t please some people.
Shankland’s probably howlin’ and greetin’’ like that guy in the Heinz Beans advert tonight!
Martin basically saying to them”Fuck off ya dicks”.??
Can just imagine wee Barry sittin by his front door askin his mrs “ huv they foned yit, huv they foned yit”.
Probably goes to bed in his finest just in case the call comes thru the nite.
Him, Dodds, McCann n McGregor wi ther wee whatsapp group chat bitchin away 🙂
The Fudtastic Four.
We’re the only team they’ve played so far this season who couldn’t lay a glove on them.?
Something really stinks about that. It’s almost as if someone pulled Rodgers aside before that game and said “sorry kid, this ain’t your night”
Editor: Putting a team together when the CEO is trying to sell everyone and the Chairman is briefing his messengers to undermine players bought post August 2023 makes like very ‘challenging’.
Im more worried about Motherwell, Hearts, Hibs this year.
Sevco ain’t gonna b a problem for most teams.
But those ones are playing decent fitba, certainly better than ours is.
Just like the toxic atmosphere from bigots and racists inside Ibrox undermines putting a team together. This is a club that is totally toxic. Russell Martin has a big job on his hands and a stadium full of enemies and some of the most hateful “peepul” on Earth.
As a Celtic supporter for 65 years now I see we also have problems of a different nature and caused by our board and I realise that we have a big problem at our club board level, but so far we are behaving more rationally.
I have a lot of respect for Russell Martin, who seems to be a brave and decent human being. This is the most important aspect. Get off his back and stop encouraging the Sevco fan base and concentrate on our own club. Russell is not a coward, unlike someone inside the boardroom at Celtic Park. I hope he will eventually help to change the culture at that club. He has done nothing to offend us, so show some respect.
Contrat his behaviour with that of the likes of Ferguson and his background team etc, etc. He also does not deserve the “tree hugging” quip. That is not needed.
If Mr Martin can help the new board at Sevco to gradually get rid of the toxic behaviour of the bigots at Ibrox then this would be good for us and Scottish football in general. The only people who would disagree are those at our own club who also thrive on this bigotry and hatred.
Editor: Martin did his due diligence, applied for the job and went through seven rounds of interviews. No decent human being does that.
Listen to the venom in their voices from the press/media asking those questions, supposedly being neutral when really they are asking those questions or putting those questions to Martin as sevco fans.
Bully boy tactics ganging up on the guy,all that time wee Benny Ferguson was in charge and not getting results not once did a journalist call him out on anything
Talking of wee Benny I can him and his 3 Stoogies back in the dugout before you know it,let’s see how they question him when he can’t get a tune out the same players ,let’s see if they ask him to call it a day.
Good call Joker.
Time to get the brouges and suit out the pawn,in McGregors case it’s the FLASHERS coat with a copy of pocket rustler or Mayfair magazine tucked inside the coat.
Why did Martin go straight to a Rangers supporters club to answer question…?
They only way he can f them supporters off any more is dropping his budisim and converting to cathollisim ??? got to be the next move after Hibs dump them next week.
I wish we could leave the religious stuff alone.
Editor: His lifestyle choices are the reasons that the loyal bears detested him from the moment he was linked with the job.
He’s going nowhere and he couldn’t give a f*ck about what the orcs and the Scottish press think about him either
then he’s off home to Lucy Pinder .
My kinda guy
Oh the proddy press highlighting what we already know.
A tree hugging convention haha quality Joe.
Not really!
On the other side of the pond, can’t imagine the Yanks are bothered in the slightest with the noise around their ‘soccer investment’.
EL revenues are a bonus, and they’re on course for break even (at some point in the future, anyway).
Paying off Martin and his team doesn’t help with their financial planning.
Curious timing though: they want the manager gone – whilst we want the Board gone.
Good on ya Russell Martin !
Sadly I think they will snap pretty soon (The Sevco Board) !
Most foreign managers who went to Sevco, were decent people before they took the job. Within a short period of time, many of them became foaming at the mouth Huns. Russel Martin is to be congratulated for resisting this usual impulse.
Hail Hail.
