Auldheid stole the show on the latest edition of the Trinity Tims podcast as he joined the three usual presenters.
About a decade ago Auldheid and other concerned shareholders urged Celtic to query why the SFA awarded Rangers a UEFA licence in 2011 despite having an unpaid tax bill of £2.8m dating back a decade to the dual contracts given to Tore Andre Flo and Ronald de Boer.
Rather than pay up to HMRC Dave Murray kicked it down the road signed players like Nikita Jelavic and claimed a Champions League place ahead of Celtic.
Strangely, Celtic led by Peter Lawwell didn’t seem too bothered by the breach of rules, at the time both clubs liked to live off and explore commercial opportunities under the toxic O** F*** brand.
Celtic didn’t show any enthusiasm to question the issue, other than a question at the AGM it dropped off the agenda, the SFA escaped despite providing a UEFA licence to club with overdue tax payables.
These days it seems that Auldheid has more trust in the Celtic board despite the escalation of discontent leading to the formation of the Celtic Fans Collective.
Apparently all that is required is for the club to say ‘We hear you’ and harmony can be restored, fans and the board can then come together to take the club forward.
Auldheid also explains his plans for a Membership Service which will be open to all Celtic fans worldwide to provide one voice keeping the club in touch with the feelings of the support.
The way he shouted over you was poor, the anger in his voice because you dared to challenge his point of view on engaging with Peter Lawwell took me aback! I thought the point of the collective was that people could share opinions and find common ground. For what it’s worth I don’t see any point in trying to engage with our current board, they all have to go.
