Three days on from launching their Russell Martin on the brink LIVE BLOG the Daily Record got their wish. And so did Martin with his agent locked in negotiations for the remainder of his contract.
The Record won’t let up in their personal campaign against the vegan, Buddhist, as Martin was sacked they called him an ENGLISHMAN.
True he was born and brought up in Brighton, he sounds more Home Counties that Govan or Bridgeton but he did play 29 times for Scotland between 2011and 2017, when the Record was still selling 100,000 copies a day.

They had three SPFL Premiership matches to report on boosted by the Sevco bus being kettled by angry bears outside the Falkirk Stadium boosted by Sky Sports showing Martin getting a police escort across the pitch and smuggled out with police horses guarding the car used.
All sorts of angry reports and opinion pieces were fired out after the match, then at 9.20pm Sky Sports News put up the yellow ticker tape, just before 10pm came the 79 word statement from Ibrox that James Tavernier had saw off another manager, the autumn sacking cycle had been restored.

Throughout Friday and Saturday the Record had scoured everywhere to add to their LIVE BLOG! with spurious stories linking Sean Dyche, Kevin Muscat, Rafa Benitez and Frank Lampard with a move to Ibrox.
On their 6pm Hotline Live podcast Keith Jackson outlined what would be in his column as he pleaded with Andrew Cavenagh to open the door for Barry Ferguson or Derek McInnes.
That masterpiece was history by 10pm as the search got underway for a new manager.
The scenes of angry fans attacking a team bus and Martin being escorted out of Falkirk are the enduring images from yesterday, it is unlikely that the next manager will be another hipster with delusions of competency.
Finally, not since Stuart McCall left in 2015 there will surely be a staunch manager back in the home dug out.
For many bears the vision of a clean shaven gaffer, wearing brogues and a club blazer in the dug out against Dundee United on October 18 will be a dream come true.
McInnes is in line for a healthy wage rise on the back of the weekend events.
