On Wednesday night some fans held a 90s style banner protest against the Celtic board.
Two nights earlier certain supporter groups including the Celtic Fans Collective had been inside the stadium holding talks with club executives. Step forward Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay.
MISSING MINUTES
Despite being sent two different versions of the Minutes from the Collective Celtic’s Legal team has still to agree publication.
It isn’t difficult to see why.
A few leaked summaries have appeared online. They don’t look good for the men in suits.
It seems that other than fan engagement and communications everything inside Celtic Park is world class. Word on the street is that Nicholson has a Post It note in his office reminding him to improve on fan engagement.
Since taking the job in September 2021 the current CEO has made one media appearance. Back in June 2023 he appeared alongside Brendan Rodgers and Peter Lawwell to present the return of the Irishman as the returning manager. In front of the pesky cameras the infamous ‘world class in everything we do’ quote surfaced.
The horrific statement issued on September 6 sums up the level of leadership under Nicholson.

In the nineties those style of protests were common. Fans had little in the way of options to voice their opinions.
Save Our Celts then Celts for Change held public meetings. Beyond that there was matchdays and the phone-in on Radio Clyde.
Times have changed, everyone has a platform, communication is now easy.
SUITS UNDER PRESSURE
And that makes life difficult for Nicholson and McKay as they hide from scrutiny.
You can’t get away with a statement warning that the club is in danger of FSR and expect to get away with it.
Fans can’t be told that there were problems with European tax laws when your Chief Financial Officer is paid more than £10,000 a week.
Now the focus is on the Minutes, why won’t the Celtic Legal team sign them off?
Clearly there are areas of Nicholson and McKay’s incompetence that has to be kept out of the public domain.
If the full Minutes don’t appear on Thursday there will be pressure on the Collective to publish without being agreed.
Otherwise it will look like they have been used to play the club game of fake fan engagement, a box ticking exercise.
This board will never change they are raking in cash and giving themselves big salaries and bonuses with gilt edge pensions why would they , the only thing that will stop them is simple stop giving them your cash
Yes I’ve said it so many times Che, cutting off their money ey is the only thing these rats will respond but I think the fans are too honest and faithful so it’s as you were.
Agree with comments above that MONEY (or the lack of) is the only way to bring them down, but those self-centred scum would watch the real club, the team and its supporters suffer with them.
As I said a few days ago, “…if you sit down with rattlesnakes (board members) expect to get bitten and have an antidote handy.”
The new CFC, in my view extremely stupidly, went in to talk to the board. Prior to this the CFC has inferred that transparency is central to their initiative. So, why oh why did they not record the meeting and publish it in written form? And don’t accuse me of using hindsight as I said it before the meeting.
Someone recently mentioned that, whilst being against the type of behaviour the new huns fans used, it had the desired result in that Martin has left. If we have to do something radical to clear out the board then I’d have to say I’d go along with it. NOTHING ELSE HAS HAD ANY EFFECT!
Further, I have a few ideas (without extreme behaviour) that I’d like to voice, initially in private so as not to forewarn ‘the enemy’ and with, I think, a huge potential for rapid success to fund current action short term but also for long-term supporter involvement in running our precious club.
