Four point O** F*** gap as BBC Scotland jump the gun

A wise man once said that ‘it’s the hope that kills them’, that claim applies across the whole of BBC Scotland.

Time and time again the loyal bears have had their hopes built up only to be slapped back down.

Outwith the freakish COVID season there has been virtually nothing for bears to celebrate other than the sackings of managers, victories in the Close Season Cup and lifting the International Break trophy.

On the park it has been persistent misery, despite that legacy media continues to send out messages of hope with no cheerleader bigger than BBC Scotland, the state broadcaster.

An organisation that pays Kenny Macintyre, Alasdair Lamont, Steven Thompson, Neil McCann, Billy Dodds, Andy Halliday, Cammy Bell, Richard Foster and other assorted hangers on such as Tom English and Jane Lewis.

English is of course the example of diversity inside the state broadcaster with the egg-chasing expert affectionately known as House Paddy by his colleagues.

When Motherwell scored with a 56th minute penalty at Celtic Park Kenny Macintyre’s WATP Group Chat almost went into meltdown, bears were daring to dream which explains the update above.

Unfortunately for the lads it was down hill from there. Ben Nygren equalised, so to did Falkirk, then in stoppage time Daizen Maeda headed Celtic into the lead.

Afterwards Sportsound was like a morgue, another title dream is in tatters made worse by knowing that out with COVID this is the worst Celtic squad in a decade.

Despite that the mini-Pep at Ibrox lasted just seven matches in the SPFL Premiership, picking up one win and just eight points, stuck firmly in the bottom half of the table behind St Mirren, Kilmarnock and Motherwell.

At the full time whistle Celtic had stretched the lead over their O** F*** rivals to nine points, a five point swing from the misguided update above.

Later on Sunday Russell Martin was sacked, it looks like there will be another Ibrox raid on the BBC Sports Desk, creating vacancies for new pundits provided they pass the essential background checks.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Or as the Rock star who said also ..circa 1977 to an idiot scoop music reporter …” man , if you don’t leave ..how do you expect me to miss you ? ” That should

certainly be applied to the BBC sports division ,Scottish version too .. most definitely ?

  • Bigmick says:

“Motherwell dreaming with Celtic in big trouble” or should that have been “I’m dreaming/fantasising and creaming my Union Jack boxer shorts at the thought…”
‘Football pundits’ and ‘journalists/reporters’ in wee bonnie Scotland. ???

They are all at it. The doom and gloom merchants. Keevins has made a mug of himself during celtic matches.
If we don’t score first or are not 3 up at halftime then it’s a disaster.

Now some fans are at it now.
When motherwell equalised they were calling the league for hearts.
There is nothing better than a late winner in what was a good game.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:
