Talks are underway to ‘finalise’ Kevin Muscat’s appointment at Ibrox according to the Rangers Review.
The Newsquest outlet led by Jonny McFarlane is now the mainstream outlet of communications from the Tribute Act.
On Wednesday night they delivered the news that Danny Rohl had walked away. Just like Steven Gerrard.
Muscat is currently managing Shanghai Port. With four matches left to play they have a two point lead at the top of the Chinese League.
Only a very desperate character would get involved in talks with another club at such a stage in the season.
If Muscat is involved in talks, even through his good pal Craig Moore, it would be Micky Beale levels of behaviour. Two years ago the then QPR boss was boozing in the Louden Tavern then high-fiving in the Directors Box with the pressure growing on Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Rangers are working to finalise the appointment of Kevin Muscat as their new head coach.
The Rangers Review revealed last night that Danny Rohl had withdrawn from the process.https://t.co/tnWkabQlIH pic.twitter.com/ULkbU9ApJK

With two training sessions to go before Saturday’s match against Dundee United, Neil McCann is still sitting and waiting.
The former Dundee boss is primed to take over on an interim basis and has apparently been a close pal of Muscat for over 20 years.
While Barry Ferguson has made it clear he won’t return on an interim basis McCann will return to Ibrox in any capacity.
All season long he has been using his media appearances to audition as Russell Martin’s successor.
That should happen over the next 48 hours.
Muscat is believed to be on a salary of around£2m a year with a very low tax rate in China.
The last time he was in Scotland he had his wages topped up by £1m in disguised remuneration. HMRC are now much less sympathetic to that sort of arrangement.

Hope sevco have the Christmas managerial candidate lined up & next Easter and summer candidates too….
Need to get that Dear Reader block sorted. 4 screen refreshers yet again before we get to the article grrrrr
They could bring in Ancelloti Mourinho et al and nothing will change. The underperforming players who cost six managers their jobs are still there, terrified of playing in front of a baying mob, so what will Musky bring other than he “ gets it”.
Won’t lose any sleep over Brendan’s next scalp
“Dirtiest player in world football.” Ends up at dirtiest club in world football. I love synchronicity.
Wee Scotty from the daily Record is over the moon that Danny Rohl is out of the reckoning for the Ibroxland ‘ coaching ‘ job ! In fact he is a McInnes cheerleader all over .In actual fact the big wee guy said that McInnes was a better coach than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ..he of ex Man Utd . The cholesterol in doughnuts , pizzas , steak bakes , sausage rolls and other junk food hits the brain … eventually . Kno’ ?
Scott McDermott from the Daily Record getting his weekly stock of 200 mars bars along with a ‘ He gets it ‘ puff piece from Bob Malcolms icey
Well if true, any manager that would discuss such at his clubs stage of the season isn’t a good type. Cannot believe his club given as I say stage and position allowed talks so tapped or BS??? At this stage it can’t simply be keeping them happy(ISH) as if Muscat deal falls many a police escort ahoy. Think about it, hotel confrontations, manager a police escort never mind the beliefs n songbook, some bunch. If only we hadn’t decided to implode at the same time
Good luck to anybody trying to understand McCanns tactics.. Ten formations in ten minutes when I’ve listened to him.
Did Muscat ever pay the taxes or was that all down to Rangers 1872. If the Gov are freezing pensioners to death the least they can do is go after the ebt bastards.
Wonder if the timing on his watch is working.?
If Muscat does sign up, uv gotta question his sanity.
He must be living the life where he is and probably worshipped by grateful fans.
Trading that for a fanbase that will have him needing a polis escort to his motor oot the back door if he drops points at all in his first half dozen games.
He’s already failed miserably in Europe and that Belgium club would have been nothing like the hatefest that is Sevco.
If I was a reasonably wealthy out of work manager or one looking for a move, trying to be totally objective, I wouldn’t even consider it, not for a second.
Out and out animal . How can anyone have any respect for that cxnt .
Would like to see Sevco try and shaft the Chinese over compensation.
Frontrunner behind the first two shitebags.
