Three protests over 14 days have forced Michael Nicholson out of his office, away from the Post It notes into a face to face meeting with the Celtic Fans Collective.
The recently formed fans group will be very well briefed, they know their facts, the timelines and be well prepared for Monday’s meeting.
Gags about ‘penalty to Rangers’ and patronising tactics won’t work this time. Tea and biscuits will be politely declined.
It is a remarkable success for the Collective, there has been elements within the Celtic support telling them that their actions are pointless, that the club is set in its ways, that won’t engage with rabble rousers.
On Wednesday night Nicholson’s nerve crashed, Monday is going to be extremely uncomfortable for the ‘leading sports lawyer’. The good news is that this meeting is only the beginning, if he thinks that it concludes his fan engagement activities for 2025 he is in for a bit of a shock.

That tweet went out at 3.01pm, sneering at the tone used by Chairman Lawwell as he attempts to connect with supporters by palming them off with standard excuses.
Perhaps Nicholson saw that tweet, more likely he didn’t have a clue about it but by 9.25pm on Wednesday the Collective were announcing their first victory- the Celtic CEO had been forced into a meeting with the supporters that he has shown nothing but contempt for in his four years of drawing the CEO salary.

The backing for that tweet was overwhelming, after three matchday protests Nicholson and McKay were forced way out of their comfort zone, Monday’s meeting won’t be spent looking at their phones as if fans don’t exist.
Further protests were planned for the matches at home to Braga and Motherwell, that clearly spooked the Celtic executives, rather than going off on holiday next week they’ll be sitting face to face with representatives of the fans that made their recent trip to Firhill so uncomfortable.
Having backed down once the pressure is all on Nicholson to start answering the seven questions raised in the open letter published by the Green Brigade 29 days ago.
If he gets round to that he can go on to explain why no action has been taken against the senior figures that were briefing against Brendan Rodgers to Roger Hannah of The Sun.
Then finally the CEO can explain the rambling statement of September 6 and how UEFA Financial Sustainability Regulations limited Celtic during the summer transfer window.

Don’t know what the expectation levels are with the collective for this meeting, but I know mine are extremely low.
I’m guessing they will come away from this meeting even more disillusioned than when they went into it, after speaking to a CEO so out of touch with fan reality that he won’t be able to offer any words of comfort.
This is when they will see the “lawyer” side of MN.
I’d also guess that any feedback from the suits will take forever and a day in the hopes if they string it out long enough the whole uprising will just fade away.
The suits are into job security, nothing else matters.
You can now go and buy the European package then we’ll ignore most proposals on Monday
So the protest tonights called off ?
So Nicholson’s played a blinder ,avoided humiliation under the lights probably got more tickets punted aswell and come monday he plays mute again
yep the supports caved went from a position of power to whimpering for the scraps at the boards table ,,,,,can nobody see this ?
why call off the protest and don’t give it the goodwill pish ,the boards been mute for years and ignored us ,never once shown goodwill ,lied through there teeth and yet the one’s speaking for the support have caved in at the first attempt
humiliation on the public stage was the only weapon the support had not only to show the board their frustrations and force change but also show the rest of europe just how small minded our board were
yet the collective ripped that all up and fkd it in the corner at the first chance of tea and biscuits
Not for one second have they caved in there will be no tea n biscuits.
5 way agreement ring a bell , loads of meetings ,support ignored
the customer collective have a meeting ,,,,why?
to avoid humiliation tonight and to salvage ticket sales
you don’t show weakness when negotiating with sleakit knts who have had numerous meetings through the years and shafted the support
you force change by keeping the pressure on
so yes ,,,,,,Caved
Not usually a poster, but like most, enjoy the site. Think this a smart move by the collective, if they show good faith and the board fail to reciprocate, then it can it can be used to garner support and assist in the escalation if required. I think it would be another nail in the board’s coffin so to speak. The collective have thought this one through.
When my 12 yr old grandson comes out with something profoundly stupid I give him a certain look and just say SFB. He understands that.
Having read your post I just thought SFB.
Aye, Shit For Brains, but you’re far from alone, so please don’t take it too personally.
I’ve watched the board perform under Lawwell and many predecessors and as far as I’m concerned SFB fits the brand new Celtic Fans Collective too! Otherwise they’d have seen Monday’s meeting coming a mile away and refused to be conned any more by agreeing to it. They really should have “…….thought this one through.”
Lawell and Nicholson must be removed, no ifs no buts!!!
Also those in the background getting forty odd grand a year for doing nothing.
I can’t believe the collective has fallen for this, genuinely can’t believe it
Does anyone expect Nicholson or Lawwell to hand in their notice ?
So why go to them ?
You had the momentum and it’s been given away so cheaply !!!!
Trust me we’re laughing at this not so long ago ?
Good luck getting it all going again !!!!
In my view none of the questions above matter this is a vicious circle that keeps repeating and won’t change until they are gone.
Taken for mugs !!
Spot on Zeddy!
