There was no match programme for Wednesday’s match between Celtic and Falkirk.
The manager’s notes almost always appear on page three, some bland comment that very rarely contains anything topical or of interest. Bit not on Wednesday night.
MONDAY NIGHT DRAMA
Following the late drama on Monday night with Brendan Rodgers resigning Celtic took the decision to pulp the programme.
Interestingly there is a subscription service for the programme through publishers Curtis Sport.
It could be that after printing the programme on Monday those on the subscription list are put into the post and off into the letterboxes of grateful collectors.
There has been a little stir on social media about the mystery programme. Celtic fans turning to the Curtis website were met with the SOLD OUT sign.
Managers article printed and published.

From the time that the Managers Page/notes/comments were printed until kick-off on Wednesday night was one of the most dramatic periods in Celtic’s history.
DESMOND INTERVENES
It isn’t often that a manager resigns. Incredibly that wasn’t the main news item, 15 minutes after that news came the Dermot Desmond statement.
The Non Executive Director who holds 35% of the shares in the club didn’t hold back.
There was a complete character assassination. Of a manager that delivered 12 Champions League points last season. With all of the failings listed it is incredible that Rodgers wasn’t sacked.
Among the accusations thrown towards Rodgers was the claim that he had created a toxic environment. Fans were amazed and disbelieving that Rodgers was in full agreement with all transfer activities. His version is eagerly awaited.
Almost as a side-note Celtic have a new management team.
Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney have been selected, presumably by Desmond to take charge, as long as they are winning they are bound to become candidates.
Meanwhile perhaps a handful or a hundred programmes escaped being pulped with collectors doing their detective work to get their hands on the rarest of items.

Not sure that many will have been sent out – I subscribed to the match programme for one season about 15 years ago and they frequently arrived after the match! I imagine if any have survived they’ll have been rescued by staff at the printers to become valuable collectors items – like the famous Rangers programme that contained an advert for the awful Robbie Coltrane film “The Pope Must Die”.
Who on earth authorised this ? And why as BRs column is the usual bland stuff. What a waste of money pulping them. Its like the Nazis burning books they did not like. Luckily me and my mate have copies as we get them via Curtis subscription. Anyone want one ? Only ÂŁ100. LOL.
Get with The Programme Bhoys And Ghirls – It’s part of the sabotage !
