Snowflake Celtic fans emerge against the Collective

Online it appears that some Celtic fans felt that a three minute halt to the match at Dundee was a factor in the 2-0 defeat at Dens Park!

Ten seconds into the match small balls and tangerines were thrown onto the pitch to highlight the campaigns of the Celtic Fans Collective.

Sky Sports had no option other than to cover it. Their cameras showed the grim faced reactions of Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay in the Directors Box.

To the surprise of no-one Peter Lawwell didn’t attend the match. Lunches in Monaco to watch the Champions League draw are more his scene.

On Friday the Collective launched their Not Another Penny campaign urging fans not to cut spending on all areas outside of match tickets.

It has been well received and backed on social media. Taking the message into the mainstream via Sky Sports is a natural form of promoting the aims of the Collective.

Some fans are claiming the stoppage contributed to the defeat. If that is the case we have a very weak squad.

The main contribution to the defeat and the massive downturn in performances is CEO Nicholson.

TRANSFER SABOTAGE

He was the person that pushed for and signed off on the transfers of Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah.

But for his own incompetence Daizen Maeda and Yang Hyun-jun would also have left in the summer window.

Nicholson signed up Shin Yamada, Hayato Inamura, Callum Osmond and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. Clearly Brendan Rodgers had no plans for any of those players.

Following the actions of the fans at Dundee there has been no comment from the Celtic CEO.

This week the full 2025 accounts should be published revealing Nicholson’s pay and announcing the date of the AGM.

Three weeks notice has to be given ahead of the AGM, the one day a year that Nicholson can be questioned.

Celtic, Nicholson

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

    Hi Joe,

Many would agree that if a player doesn’t want to play for Celtic then they should be let go. Those players who were sold wanted to leave.

It’s also worth noting that getting quality players to come to Scotland is a hard sell.

Editor: No sh** Sherlock. Kyogo, Juranovic, Starfelt, Jota, CCV, Giakoumakis, Hatate, O’Riley, Maeda, Johnston and Kuhn managed to endure the hard sell of coming to Celtic. I suspect your stay here will be short and sweet, Celtic Thick News are welcome to you.

The so called snow flakes are the 30 strong media department of the plc regime. What else could they be doing with their time other than attack celtic fans on all corners of the net… I wonder if they also get $7000 per post?

Editor: I suspect that the 30 strong media team appear on matchday only. Can’t see more than 10 on full time contracts, a good few on minimum wage terms.

The not another penny initiative I will be adhering to 100% and I support the Collective and their aims but I’m not sure the protest on Sunday had the desired effect.

But at the same time some of the pearl clutching has been embarrassing. The 100 minutes of dross that followed had nothing to do with tennis balls

  • John McCourt says:

Until Dermot Desmond relinquishes his involvement in Celtic nothing will change.
Also we now have a Manager who in my opinion is working his ticket, his comments on Hondas and Ferarris was disgraceful.

The balls on the park is maybe a symbolic retort at the board’s transfer policy. It stopped the game and in prime sky tv time everyone heard “sack the board”and looked on as we saw the directors looking a bit miffed.

Apart from the AGM there is no better way to highlight protesting against the board and hopefully they are becoming frustrated with what is happening on the terraces. The holdup didn’t seem to upset the Dundee players and of course the added time was for both teams and if our players cannot deal with this, they are not worth their salt in my opinion.

  • John McCloskey says:

Both Nicholson and Rodgers have to go not just one or the other
Rodgers is as big a problem as the board but for some reason a large number of fans dont see it or dont want to admit it.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Why did ‘Daddy’ Lawwell not attend…

That is a dereliction of duty – One of fuckin many by the way…

If anyone doesn’t attend work they’ll be an investigation for sure but not at close rank boardroom it seems…

Perhaps in hindsight the way the team played it was an astute decision !

  • Bonaventure says:

I agree protest meaningfully ,but if you think this type of protest is going to make one iota of difference to the board think again it is irrelevant.
If the thinking is Sky is covering it and it will be embarrassing, your are quite correct, embarrassing to the Celtic fans not the board
I am not woke as I am sure Chris and Kasper are not woke
If any section of the fans are coming across as childish and selfish then you can take credit for that you cretins

  • John S says:

The board have failed this season. Protest, fine, but it’s not the only failure. Yet it has now become a ready-made excuse for that mince we endured against Dundee (who do not have a better squad). Come to think of it, when was the last time Celtic won a meaningful game ?

Editor: Come to think of it, when did Nicholson last make a good decision or speak to the Celtic fans through the club’s umpteen in-house media platforms.
