Kris Boyd has launched a scathing attack on the 49Gers who have left his title dream in tatters.
Ahead of the SPFL Premiership opener away to Motherwell the former Portland Timbers striker tipped Russell Martin’s side to end his life of pain and misery.
Seven matches into the season Martin was getting chased out of Falkirk by the Union Bears.
A week ago Boyd was waiting to serenade Steven Gerrard back to Ibrox but The Americans botched that deal.
Now Boyd is waiting on updates from Shanghei on who will slip into the blazer and brogues.
This afternoon Steven Smith will be in the dug-out for the visit of Dundee United. That wasn’t what was promised by the cheerleaders during their spring takeover plan.
The San Francisco 49ers have been replaced by Andrew Cavenagh. The players are worse than last season as are the results.
Boyd’s anger over the Muscat deal spills over into his column in The Sun:
They’re not naming the Australian as the replacement for Russell Martin because they firmly believe that he’s got what it takes to be a success.
This is an appointment they’ve stumbled upon.
This is an appointment based on indecision and hesitancy.
Yeah, we get it Boydy, use this a lot to underline how angry you are. Next.
This is an appointment that stinks to the high heavens of mismanagement at the very highest level.
Don’t get me wrong, I wish Muscat nothing but success.
Everyone knows me well enough to know that I would love nothing more than to see him get Rangers back to the top — but it’ll be entirely down to him.
My point is that he’s only going to be in the job because the people who run the football club have been forced into a position where they really couldn’t have named anyone else.
Let’s get it right, Steven Gerrard was the one they wanted.
And yet within hours of sitting down for talks in a swish London hotel he was nowhere to be seen.
The word was the timing wasn’t right. Do me a favour.
Sky Sports explained that the Gerrard decision was down to timing. So did The Sun.
THE MESSENGERS
Perhaps Boyd should call out those media outlets for spreading misinformation, or maybe he values next months pay cheque as more important?
All of the messengers were getting kept upto date with good news developments over talks with Gerrard. Last Friday the word was constructive, on Saturday Gerrard walked away.
Neither Gerrard or Cavenagh were pictured in London despite most legacy media outlets having a running commentary on negotiations.
Now it is being claimed that a deal has been agreed with Kevin Muscat. Again the messengers are all churning out the same tired line.
If the Muscat deal falls through Boyd is going to be angrier than ever. Screaming away in a Sky Sports studio to the delight of most Scottish football fans.

Is the “swishness” of the hotel relevant?
Editor: When you are crippled with insecurity you hang on to anything from your ‘noble and glorious’ past.
Probably not Kris Boyd’s kind of hotel – it doesn’t have a self-service breakfast bar….
It’s like how all sevco personnel, board members , upcoming managers etc ,they don’t just fly in like everyone else ,they are always jetting in.the dumb fucks.
At least they settled the rooms mini bar bill in full, unlike the previous club…….
HH
Timing wasn’t right simply means Slippy asked where the pot was to piss in and he was told there wasn’t one at this time.
Going back to old times (dead r*ng*rz) there’s no mention of anybody “Jetting in” maybe after the pay off to big Rus they saved some cash with a zoom call
Sitting 8th in the league , 11 points behind top spot after 7 games
Spent their transfer budget on what looks like dug meat
No manager ( the last had to be emptied for his own safety )
Their new 3rd choice manager ( who they ain’t signed up yet ) won’t be in the dug out for another 8 games .
But Hugh Keevins happily ignoring this and going all out Brendan bashing .
Bizarre
With all the highly contrived headlines in the SMSM,
forcing “Muscat” and “Rangers” together – when there are zero
direct quotes from him about even considering the end of the Chinese season…
it just feels highly unlikely that Muscat will move to ibrox?
God forbid he’s just using sevco to get UK media attention about his availability,
to attract interest from decent clubs… 🙂
Sounds like ya called it bang on Bob (original) !
