Brendan Rodgers has made four changes to the Celtic side that lost to Braga in the Europa League for today’s SPFL clash at home to Motherwell.

Despite being at fault for the opening goal from the Portuguese side Kasper Schmeichel retains his place in goal.

There are two changes in defence with full-backs Tony Ralston and Marcelo Saracchi coming into the side, in midfield Luke McCowan and Reo Hatate replace Paulo Bernardo and Ben Nygren.

Having failed to score in three of their last four home matches there will be a spotlight on the hoops forward line to come up with the goods.

Despite being in second place in the SPFL Premiership table Celtic aren’t in the top six goalscorers in the division, scoring just eight times in six matches.

After today there is a fortnight’s break before the next match, away to Dundee but tomorrow there is a very big event on the Celtic calendar.

Following three matches of fan protests Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay will meet up with members of the recently formed Celtic Collective.

Criticism of the board has swelled following the publication of an open letter organised by the North Curve which posed seven critical questions about how Celtic is operated at boardroom level.

The outcome of that meeting is eagerly awaited with the club expected to call their AGM at some point in November.

Motherwell are unbeaten in the SPFL Premiership but it took until stoppage time at home to Aberdeen for them to record their first win, their previous five matches had all been drawn.

A win will take Celtic back to two points behind Hearts, anything less with make for a very uncomfortable international break for Rodgers and the board.

CELTIC: Schmeichel; Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Scales, Saracchi; McGregor, Hatate, McCowan; Maeda, Iheanacho, Tounekti

SUBS: Sinisalo, Nygren, Balikwisha, Kenny, Engels, Bernardo, Murray, Forrest, Tierney

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

It’s time Rodgers was gone, I personally think he is trying to hurt the team as well as the club, his tactics are amateurish, every single team in the league thinks they can take us and the worst part is they’re right. We are now at the stage where we expect to drop points in most league fixtures, we were lucky today. We have good memories Brendan but don’t let the door hit your arse on the way out HH
