Celtic gave their fans something to cheer about as they confidently beat Falkirk 4-0 at home in the SPFL.
It was a winning return for Martin O’Neill as he took charge of the hoops after a 20 year break, assisted by Shaun Maloney.
Two goals in each half secured the points with a bonus coming from Paisley as Hearts drew 2-2 away to St Mirren.
KENNY MAKES HIS MARK
O’Neill made four changes to the side that lost 3-1 away to Hearts on Sunday but it was one of the survivors, Johnny Kenny that caught the eye with two first half goals.
Last week at home to Sturm Graz the Irish striker got into the positions but failed to find the net.
There was a real strikers instinct about goals in the 30th and 40th minutes that eased the pressure after Falkirk had started the match impressively.
Ben Nygren provided the assists for both goals with Kenny sharp around the six yard box, starting a match at Celtic Park for the first time.
GOAL RUSH
Nygren can be a frustrating finisher but there was no denying him in the 59th minute when hereacted quickest to a Scott Bain block to score Celtic’s third goal.
Seb Tounekti showed bravery and composure to score Celtic’s fourth in the 73rd minute. A brilliant through ball from Luke McCowan sent the Tunisian racing in on goal, evading a wild tackle then clipping his shot into the net.
It was a small but essential step for the hoops- much challenges now await at Hampden on Sunday then away to Midtjylland.
Daizen Maeda came off the bench in the 66th minute with Callum Osmand making his debut in the 76th minute.

Watched it on The iPad last night and fuckin well enjoyed it !
