James Tavernier has admitted that taking 10 months to record a clean sheet away from home was DISAPPOINTING.
It is the catchphrase best associated with the Ibrox skipper, refereeing to it constantly during 10 seasons that have yielded just three winners medals.
VIRAL VIDEOS
Since video compilations of his disappointment interviews went viral Captain Disappointed has gone out of his way to avoid using that word.
Last week after losing 3-0 to Brann Bergen he delivered an epic reaction.
The former Wigan ace used the word raging three times as he reacted to the defeat in Norway. The result was disgraceful but he got through two rounds of interviews without slipping back to his disappointing ways.
Not so yesterday.
Back-to-back wins have convinced the bears that Danny Rohl is the real deal. Even better than the recent messiahs who tend to average about 11 months before things fall apart.
The skipper was on media duty and didn’t disappoint, halfway through his interview Tavernier delivered the goods.
4 minutes 50 seconds
I think someone told us that was like our first clean sheet since uh December 24. So that yeah that blew my mind. Um you know you obviously pride yourself as a defender on on not conceding and to to see that stat it was yeah I was you know it was disappointing and obviously couldn’t believe it. So yeah.
After the Brann defeat Captain Disappointed delivered:
It’s just a disgraceful performance, it’s as simple as that. In all the years I’ve been here, with the consistency of poor performance that we’re putting in, I’ve not experienced it before.
Followed by:
I’m raging. This is what I’m saying, it’s the first time I’ve been in this position, being at this club, and the amount of consistent games were on a certain basic levels, we’ve not been performing.
And that’s what’s making me rage.
The amount of chats that we’ve had after games, you want it to sink into the players’ heads but it just isn’t at the minute, and that’s what I’m raging at.
Despite over 10 years of service details have still to be published of Tav’s Testimonial although it in expected to involve a reunion of the 2016 Petrofac Cup winners.
That could see legends like Andy Halliday, Jason Holt and Wes Foderingham making an emotional return to Ibrox.
Tavernier moved to Ibrox in June 2015 as one of Mark Warburton’s first moves. Since then he has been managed by Pedro Caixinha, Steven Gerrard, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Micky Beale, Phil Clement, Russell Martin and Rohl all on permanent deals.
Throughout the failure Tavernier has survived through them all. He is a master of dealing with the media about the small differences that the incoming boss brings. Graeme Murty and Barry Ferguson brought similar impacts as caretakers.

Have you ever noticed whenever Tavpen is coming from the tunnel to the pitch at Parkhead at the start of the Glasgow derby , he always spits out whatever is in his mouth just as he arrives onto the pitch ? It’s a disgusting habit ! It’s obviously pre ordained …spitting out his hatred and loathing for everything about Celtic FC ? A guy who spits in the face of another dominant and more successful football club with utter disdain . It’s appalling behaviour of the most repugnant kind .
Serial loser always on our shadow more silver medals for captain supreme keep them coming hh
Captai Dud admits himself that they are
“Disgraceful”.
I could have told them that for nothing long time ago!
Disgrace implies shame. That is what they bring. Disgrace and shame!
They could at least have changed that old stinky rotten blue jersey!
Another 8 month wait for a potential medal after today as well !
