Celtic B were hammered 4-0 away to Clydebank today.
After 15 matches in the Lowland League Celtic have a record of 5 wins, 5 draws and 5 defeats with a goal difference of 27-34.
This is the fifth season that Celtic are playing at the 5th/6th tier of Scottish football. Clydebank were promoted as champions of the West of Scotland League and are clear at the top the Lowland League.
Celtic were trailing 1-0 at half-time today then lost goals in the 64th, 86th and 92nd minutes to the league leaders.
Clydebank are 16 points ahead of Celtic with a goal difference of 44-15.
World Class. Looking to create Champions League players….
Sack the Board.

It is fairly clear that playing in the Lowland League isn’t doing anything to accelerate the development of players.
Celtic have five players out on loan at Ayr United and Partick Thistle, if they can impress at that level they may have a chance of making inroads on their return to Celtic.
DEEP ROOTED PROBLEMS
Moving up from the under-age Academy set up into facing seasoned part-timers is proving too much. Teenagers out of the academy aren’t prepared for the challenges they face. With 19 matches still to be played in the Lowland League this season looks ominous.
Celtic B are also taking part in the SPFL Challenge Cup. After beating Clyde and Kelty Hearts they have lost to Edinburgh City, Alloa and East Fife. Their final fixture in that competition is away to East Kilbride.
In the SFA Youth Cup for u-19s Celtic lost 3-2 to St Mirren in the third round.
The opening of the Barrowfield Training Complex has been highlighted and celebrated by Celtic but more than facilities are required.
There won’t be any instant fix to turn things around but clearly changes have to be made.
The last group of young players to show potential was the 2000 group which contained Jack Aitchison, Ewan Henderson, Stephen Welsh, Kerr McInroy and Robbie Deas.
Players need to be developed to a certain level then loaned out at a suitable level that gives them a chance of returning as first team prospects.
What are the coaches doing in there time to get rid and bring in some good foreign coaches who are tactically aware and not naive
Controversial: Do we need a B team ???
Editor: Only if it can play at a worthwhile level. That isn’t going to be the Lowland League.
Not controversial at all, Rob. Celtic should be pushing for the return of the Reserve League. If the Huns don’t want to join? Feck ’em.
Hail Hail.
My point is jobs for the boys too many ex players in there at Barrowfield what’s the point in having world class facilities with amateur coaches time for a big rethink
Which is why I disagree when someone on a podcast or online say that Forrest when he hangs up his boots should be immediately drafted into the academy to show the kids how it could be done. Great career that he has had but we should be investing in the best possible coaches be them from Scotland or overseas, otherwise Barrowfield is going to be like “putting lipstick on a pig”
Time to leave that lowland league bring back the reserve league set up and get rid of the coaches start afresh get rid of this jobs for the boys and freshen up good coaches fresh ideas there’s absolute nothing coming through with the money that’s being soent
ONLY the Celtic plc board could be so blind and so stupid as to think playing tradesmen of sparks, joiners, painters etc. is the way to develop young talent.
It’s just so fukkin obvious it doesn’t work, just HOW/WHY can they not see it?
Get them gone and replaced by Tims.
Come on the new CFC, you were desperately needed. I’ll back you and I’ve got my AGM stuff with the proxy form, just need to know how to send it to you.
We not developed a proper striker that could progress into the first team since Charlie Nicholas.
The world has moved on since the days of the Celtic Reserve team, for better or for worse!
There is not the same interest in playing football as a profession as there once was.
An indoor pitch at new Barrowfield, I feel, will make a BIG difference in getting kids to play football. I remember freezing wind and rain on a Saturday morning with your cotton vest, shorts, socks and feet soaked through. Not the best way to experience the game!
Editor: Dream on.
“Dream On.”?
Editor: Yes dream on, back to CQN will bootlicker P67 and the rest of the.
Embarrassing result !
