Celtic made it three away wins in eight days by beating Hibs 2-1 at Easter Road.
After winning in Rotterdam it was always going to be a tough challenge at Easter Road- made tougher by the performance of referee Nick Walsh.
Two goals midway through the first half by Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels seemed to give Celtic a winning cushion.
Engels bravely headed in from a Yang Hyun-jun cross and took a boot in the face from Jamie McGrath.
The Hibs midfielder booted Engels full on in the face, cutting his nose with treatment.
Walsh instantly handed out a yellow card, VAR decided against taking further action.
Since November 2 there has been a constant campaign to have players sent off for any head contact. McGrath knew what he was doing and swung his boot at an opponent to scare him off.
? “The bravery from Engels, absolutely tremendous!”

In the second half Walsh went into overdrive with Hibs given free kicks on demand.
After 54 minutes he was called to the monitor to review an incident in the Celtic penalty box. No one was surprised when he returned to point to the penalty spot. Martin Boyle pulled a goal back.
With more than half an hour to play Celtic were in for a battle.
Hibs were given a succession of free kicks in the final third of the pitch to test the Celtic goal.
When Rocki Bashiri deliberately head butted Yang no penalty was awarded.
After five minutes of stoppage time the final whistle blew.
Celtic are two points behind with a game in hand. Walsh will be back on duty at Boclair Academy tomorrow, working on the fitness and education of the Murray Park starlets.
On Wednesday Celtic are at home to Dundee in what is expected to be Martin O’Neill’s final match as interim manager.

Compare and contrast that award today with the Livingston one last week.Scottish football rotten to the core.
Brilliant, Bryan TWO great incidents to take to the SFA/LRA/Gollum for comparison.
One involves the new huns – no penalty against.
One involves us and corruption is evident – penalty awarded against.
NB The time to complain, especially, is when you’ve been clearly cheated but still WON the match. No ‘sour grapes’ to deflect from the answer.
Now, FFS, Celtic Fans Collective, start getting your act together to drive positive change.
I had to SEEK how to proxy my shares and then did so via the CST.
I’d contribute to a fighting fund and help in any way I could BUT you’re just not visible enough. I’ve emailed, with rather poor responses. I get it that you’re busy and new but you have to be VISIBLE!
Only 60% possession today for us according to the stats but still TWICE as many fouls committed than Hibs.
Seems this “game management” is the norm for most of the MiB.
Gotta be honest, Iv’e watched the pen incident quite a few times and Scales does loon as though he lifts his arm just at the end cos he thinks its goin past him, pen for me.
Agree he lifts his arm but thought it was above tee shirt line
Yeah I thought shoulder but commentary mentioned hand hit? Never saw that tho.
It’s going to keep on happening as long as Celtic say nothing about it
Great comment Clara, ‘spot’ on!
Liam was defending, as defenders are supposed to do.
His arm was NOT in an unnatural position. It wasn’t stuck out to ‘make his body bigger’.
There was NO attempt to ‘play’ the ball with his arm.
Celtic did NOT gain anything from the incident, e.g it didn’t stop a goalbound effort.
THEREFORE, NO PENALTY.
WALSH IS A HUN, ONLY REASON FOR PENALTY.
Lawwell (and the empty jersey) will do nothing as Clara rightly pointed out and hence this will NOT be the end of it. It’s been going on for decades………
As for Bhoy4life, you evidentially don’t know what you’re talking about.
Its all opinions, and in my opinion the slo mo clearly shows Scales move his arm up as he thinks its passing him, I’m entitled to my opinion as u are yours so kindly refrain from getting personal.
Why comment on a blog if you can’t handle different opinions.
Opinions are ONE thing, LAWS (of the game) another.
We are constantly cheated by ignoring LAWS of the game so “opinion” doesn’t come into it, it’s cheating and it’s blatant.
I spelled it out for you so don’t try blaming me for your evident lack of knowledge.
Fitba’s in the state it’s in because the LAWS are ignored by referees and pundits alike and no-one is prepared to stand up for honesty. You’re a contributing factor as you’re helping our enemies by stating it’s all opinion. It’s not. It’s ignorance and corruption.
But mibbees you believe someone can be a wee bit pregnant? “Jist my opinion”?
Naw, it’s binary, it’s one or other. Just read what I’ve said and stop trying to make this a personal thing, It’s not. It’s fact vs opinion and ther’e only ONE proves correct. ___________________________________END
Exactly . If you watch it again ,look at all the players in the penalty box , about 80% of them have their arms outstretched, it’s a normal position when constantly moving and changing direction.
What happened to the above the t-shirt line rule?
It looked to me like it came off his shoulder
On Wednesday Celtic are at home to Dundee not hearts
Great result at a dodgy ground to go to , Walsh is a cheating bassa
Going off track here Joe .
Where the f*ck is our CEO to tell us what’s going on with Nancy ?
Why is he hiding and getting MON to tell us the score
What is this guy doing to get the money he’s on
Harold, maybe try directing that at PT Lawwell but you may as well direct it at PT Barnum.
Remember who appointed the empty jersey then add 2 + 2 and you’ll have the answers.
Lawwell still pulls the strings but he’s on borrowed time whilst he still steals a wage.
I’ve heard it’s a whole new set of tax laws that are holding up the world class ceo..
The real culprits are the ones hiding on VAR. It is a licence to cheat!
Correct AL, but only as long as you stay silent and do nothing.
“Evil occurs when good people see it happening but do nothing to stop it…………”
Of course, this wouldn’t apply to Lawwell as there’s absolutely nothing good about him!
Both Sevco and ourselves had 60% possession stats today.
We committed 18 fouls and were only fouled 9 times, Sevco were fouled 17 times within that same percentage.
The pattern of assistance still exists, just in a different form.
Hopefully the Celtic Board Make a Complaint.
Looks to me like Scales was trying to header the ball and misjudged it. It then clearly strikes his shoulder. Never a pen unless it’s against us.
The SFA have got Lawwell by the balls over the 5 way agreement so Celtic will say f**k all about Beaton and the rest of these corrupt bastards.
Bryan, firstly I’d say you’re wrong, entirely wrong, and I’ll explain why.
The 5-Way was sent to Lawwell but never signed by him. He didn’t have to sign it…..according to him he missed a certain email with the 5-WA attached.
Eric Riley, an official within the SFA and Celtic also got a copy.
BTW, I’ve brought this up with the new “Celtic Fans Collective”. They lack “appetite” for it. Fucking sickening!
I’m fucking sick of Celtic supporters claiming this, that and the other without knowing ANYTHING about it. I’ve had the 5-Way for many, many years and, most importantly the email it was an attachment to.
Ask me, and if the editor on here feels okay with it I’ll send him both the email (most important) and the 5-Way 6th and final draft.
I’m PASSIONATE about all things truth and Celtic and I’ll continue until my last breath.
BTW, an “opinion”. If the new CFC don’t get active and visible, they’ll end up just another barrier to a joined-up Celtic FC supporter base with purpose and clout. I just hope they can do this.
BTW, I’m getting ‘long in the tooth’ and hugely frustrated that I can’t, on my own, raise a Celtic supporter base to fight against blatant capitalists and their end-game, namely Profit. Mamon. Call it what you will but it has NO place in fitba anywhere and especially no place at Celtic FC, founded to feed those poor individuls whom the wealthy British government chose to starve. Those fleeing British-enforced famine and hatred, just as they do to Catholics in Scotland today.
Disclaimer: I am NO Catholic, I’m an absolute, self-taught Atheist, but I instinctevly know what’s right. The founding principles of Celtic FC were right then and right now.
NEVER sit at the backae the bus, not unless you choose to.
There may well be errors above although I hope not. In any case, I’ll continue to voice and back financially Celtic FC whilst offering everything I can to bring down that establishment-based shower on our board and further afield. I’m a Tim, a proud Fenian and a Rebel WITH a Cause. HH.
He teaches The Sevco junior ‘swifts’ – Nuff said there then me thinks !
