Celtic statement provides Fans Collective with fresh fire

After a relatively tranquil week which doused out some of the anger among fans Celtic struck again in style at tea-time on Friday.

Drafting in Martin O’Neill and a victory in the League Cup semi-final took away some of the frustrations felt by supporters.

SPOTLIGHT ON FOOTBALL!

Most fans just want to watch and enjoy football. Against Falkirk and at Hampden that was evident, for now anyway the Celtic Fans Collective wasn’t the lead story.

There were things on the park to take in.

The emergence of Callum Osmand, the return of Auston Trusty, Callum McGregor unshackled and much more.

Celtic fans could even enjoy a chuckle again at the shambles across the city. Some clubs are even worse run than Celtic.

The defeat from Midtjylland was a reminder of how poorly the club is run but no-one was heading to the front door to protest.

And then the club rediscovered how to communicate!

Not on a new manager, not on the departure of John Kennedy, not on a bright new feature but on a depressing familiar topic.

Unlike other incidents involving fans Celtic took less than 10 days to find The Green Brigade guilty. With less than 48 hours notice given for a match ban.

The reaction on Twitter has been furious.

A ONE SIDED STORY

One side of the story has been presented. After the Falkirk match there wasn’t a mention of the seriousness of the incidents.

Court action would be expected, backed up by CCTV evidence.

Celtic are going down a very dangerous path, some might describe it as scorched earth.

After a few minor concessions there has been a 180 degree turnaround. On Friday the Celtic Trust announced very specific problems with proxy votes for the AGM. Followed up later by the Green Brigade ban.

On November 21 the AGM will be held, it promises to be much more confrontational than the usual chuckle along.

Martin O’Neill or a new manager won’t shield Michael Nicholson from a year in hiding.

With the team in a very fragile state the last thing that is needed is for the board to go poking a stick at supporters.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

I’ve copied this from an earlier thread as we need to take action.
THE PROOF IS AVAILABLE, WE NEED TO USE IT!

Exactly, Bob and our CEO at the time (now Chairman) Lawwell had to be up to his balls in it. He was sent the email (says he’s never seen it) on Thurs 26th July 2012 around 9.00 PM with the 5-Way agreement attached. This fraud could never have happened without Lawwell and Desmond’s concurrence.
Strangely, our current CEO says he HAS seen it but didn’t see anything wrong with it.
Neil Doncaster is on record as saying words to the effect of (if not verbatim) ‘there’s no mechanism for doing what we propose’ yet it was all done. The original Rangers FC DIED.
Green bought an off the shelf company, Sevco Scotland Limited, and then they all conspired, including at least 2 of our board, to set up the great fraud that Rangers FC somehow continued. It’s all lies. Sevco was a new company with NO history anywhere including football. Thet weren’t relegated, demoted or anything else they died. Doncaster admitted that above.
FFS Celtic FC supporters, get together, use our strength and chase the con artists that run our club right out the door. Then force the TRUTH of what happened in 2012 into the global news and prosecute the whole stinking lot of those involved.
Do this and Desmond is gone. Lawwell is gone. Nicholson is gone. Doncaster is gone. Regan is prosecuted along with those above as fraud is not time-barred.
THE ANSWER IS IN OUR HANDS, FFS USE IT!
I beseech all Celtic supporters groups to get together, use our strength, use the law and change Scottish football forever, for the better and rid our sport of the financial scum, con artists who are currently depraving it.
I just can’t comprehend how you’re all so fukkin apathetic!
