Celtic TV captured the magic of Celtic’s Hampden goals that booked a place in the League Cup Final.
Placed behind the goal-line, that camera has captured some of Celtic’s greatest moments in recent times. Not so many this year, unfortunately.
First up was the brilliant opener from Johnny Kenny. The corner from Arne Engels was perfectly struck, Kenny knew what was coming to redirect the ball across Jack Butland into the net.
The distant cheers of the Celtic support were matched by silence behind Butland’s goal. It was a goal that was overdue.
Against 10 men Celtic should have had the match tied up in the second half. Instead they conceded an equaliser when James Tavernier scored from the penalty spot, taking the match into extra-time.
EXTRA-TIME
In the third minute of extra-time Celtic forced their opponents back. The ball switched from left to right, it was laid into the path of Callum McGregor.
The skipper knocked the ball forward. From 25 yards he let fly. John Souttar ducked out the way, Jack Butland dived too early as the ball flew into the centre of the net.
McGregor about turned, he led his team-mates on a charge towards the Celtic support.
During the second half it looked like the match was slipping away from Celtic but in the 93rd minute the lead was restored.
DEBUT GOAL
The match was still in the balance but in the 109th minute Callum Osmond made his mark as a Celtic player.
A strong cross from Kieran Tierney was met by the teenager who stretched to divert the ball into the net.
Celtic were 3-1 in front with 10 minutes left to play against 10 men. Next month the hoops will be back at Hampden, Scotland’s most successful club are chasing another honour. They never stop.
Brendan Rodgers must have taken his daily training sessions with welders goggles on not to consider this guy as a starter every week ? Young master Osmand is going to be a revelation for Celtic …and it’s going to be a super fast style of play now too . Daizen …Tounetki and now this super fast fire cracker …..hey you other lot , catch our dust !
Huns crapped it!
