Celtic have finally referenced ‘wider fan’ protests’.
It came last night in the latest ‘Supporters update’ which has replaced the traditional statement.
Soon after the latest push for overpriced Adidas tat to the #celticfamily the club was onto their other favoured topic- criticising supporters.
FALKIRK INCIDENT
Three weeks on from the win over Falkirk which was graced by a visit from Dermot Desmond a video clip from that match is gaining increasing importance.
Taken from the South Stand diagonally across to the right hand corner of the pitch it shows a number of fans leaving the standing area to move towards a concourse.
And that is it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Apparently those leaving the standing area were then involved in assaulting one steward and two Police Officers.
COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT
There has been no reporting of arrests or charges for the assaults. It hadn’t been mentioned in the media until Celtic announced their a three home matches ban on the Green Brigade. Every one of them, with no evidence presented of what happened or who was involved.
After the ban was announced there was sustained criticism of the club’s actions.
No evidence was shown. Collective punishment was dished up less than 48 hours before the first match of the ban.
The action strengthened the Celtic Fans Collective.
It was easy to join the dots. Work out the intentions of the club.
Halfway through last night’s ‘update’ Celtic announced:
Any suggestion that this matter is motivated by the Club’s reaction to wider fan protests is completely misleading and disingenuous.
Well whoever put that statement together knows all about misleading and disingenuous.
It could be applied to all communications out of Celtic.
EPIC COMMUNICATIONS FAILURE
From the September 6 statement partly blaming UEFA Financial Sustainability regulations for failure in the transfer market.
By October 6 at a meeting with the Collective fans were told about the difficulties in Belgian and German tax regulations. Other clubs across Europe have no problems buying and selling players in those two countries. Celtic do, even with their world class executive team.
Three days before an AGM it would have been wise to hold back on ‘Supporter updates’ like last night.
Clearly people within the club think that picking on the Green Brigade is an easy target, popular with fans. Or they want to harass and noise up supporters as much as possible.
On Friday Michael Nicholson makes his annual appearance, justifying his leadership and decision making.
Going on previous performances it could well be misleading and disingenuous.
Since the controversial League Cup semi-final marred by decisions against Celtic there has been no comment, statement or supporters update from Celtic.

The board have started a war they cant win, no matter what, change is inevitable. ??

Nicholson could hardly be regarded as a leader and Lawwell is a failed one!
The tide is flooding in around the Celtic Board.
Lying barstewards
Don’t believe a word anyone on the Celtic board say.
Hope they get it tight tomorrow at the AGM.
FTCB.
Well, the Board is obviously not fussed about exercising ‘world class PR’ either ?!
The AGM is not going to resolve anything,
but it just might create a whole new raft of frustrations / grievances the shareholders
have with the Board?
Gonna be one ugly, ugly AGM for sure…
But it’s their own bloody fault and they deserve whatever shit comes down the pipe in their direction !
The Celtic Board are not immune to criticism but the descent of a minority faction into bitterness and hatred is reminiscent of behaviour from the other side of the city.
Editor: Hi John, you might be on a one way ticket back to Celtic Thick News. This site is free of Happy Clapping.
You say to keep politics out of football. Yet, whenever you comment on this site, it is to attack and disparage the Green Brigade!
Is that not political and are you not being disingeuous in doing so?
I’ve said before I don’t trust the board one inch and I think they are going to pull a stroke for the AGM. On their ‘update’ they seem to be placing a lot of blame on the Safety Advisory Group of Glasgow City Council. I’ve searched high and low and can’t find the individuals who make up this committee, unfortunately at this late stage an FOI request would be futile as GLC would probably refuse the information on the grounds of personal information. Anyway, it’s probably influenced by huns and cops but it would be interesting to know who the board are hiding behind this time especially with the Scottish Government elections not far away. Politicians do not like gad publicly.
Huns and cops? Are they not one and the same? ?
Hail Hail.
What is wrong with the Celtic board..
They watched zombies attack and hospitalise their own staff, they watched zombies attack Joe harts goal with broken bottles… AND!!! The Celtic board barely said a word, did not denounce the zombies…BUT!!! they turn on their own fans with a foaming at the mouth fever
Very good point there D !
