Shin Yamada was in the Celtic B team that lost 2-0 to East Kilbride in the SPFL Trophy last night.
The striker has had a turbulent time since his July move from Kawasaki Frontale.
However with Callum Osmand out with a long term injury and Kelechi Iheavacho currently unavailable the Japanese striker could be required and was on the bench against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
B TEAM STRUGGLES
Last night it was the K-Park in East Kilbride where two second half goals gave the home team victory in the final match of the group stage in the SPFL Trophy.
Celtic will go into the knock out stage despite losing their last four matches to Alloa Athletic, East Fife and Edinburgh City as well as last night’s opponents.
Wins in the opening matches against Clyde and Kelty Hearts gave the Celtic B six points from six matches and 21st place in the 30 team table.
Celtic were the best performing of the Premiership B teams with three unable to pick up a point.

Yamada’s Celtic career has consisted of four substitute appearances, the last two being at Ibrox and Tynecastle.
FIRST TEAM PROSPECTS
From the match away to St Mirren on November 22 it is non-stop through till the end of January with striking options very limited.
It isn’t through design but Yamada now has a chance to make an impact at Celtic.
The match at St Mirren on November 22 is followed by trips to Feyenoord and Hibs.
Yamada isn’t in Celtic’s Europa League squad but that increases the likelihood of involvement in domestic matches.
A goal at East Kilbride would have helped but match fitness was the priority.
With Jahmai Simpson-Pusey starting the 4-0 win over Kilmarnock Martin O’Neill has shown that he is prepared to look deep into his squad to deal with the worrying injury list.

The whole team were kicked up and down the park. How are boys suppose to progress when the mib give the opponents freedom to foul constantly.
If I was the parent of any of those boys I would have ran into that field and grabbed the mib by the neck!
It is disgraceful, but I guess the silver lining is that it does at least give them a realistic taste of what life will be like if they ever make it to the first team. Which also gets kicked up and down the park, with not the slightest hint that the Masons in Black will give fouls or even attempt to apply the rules. Maybe we should issue a statement ….
The ref was Josh Hay, keep a look out for him. On that performance a star of the future!
Lucan will be happy as Larry that players are on the treatment table…
Happening all the time with Celtic and he always says the square root of fuck all !
