St Mirren Season Ticket holders have failed to sell out their initial ticket allocation for the League Cup Final.
The SPFL gave the Paisley side 9,500 tickets for the December 15 match against Celtic. Dependent on sales that could rise to 17,000.
To make things easy for fans St Mirren announced that each Season Ticket holder could buy 20 tickets for the match. So far only 8,000 tickets have been sold.
Every Season Ticket holder has been able to buy a ticket for 19 friends or family. Still the club has 1,500 tickets left to sell.
Tonight, St Mirren announced:
We have taken the decision to pull forward the deadline for Premier Sports Cup Final ticket sales to allow more supporters the opportunity to purchase their tickets sooner.
With over 8,000 tickets sold for the showpiece event, it’s vital that we sell our initial allocation of 9,500 as soon as possible to unlock further tickets for St Mirren supporters and give us the biggest possible backing at Hampden Park next month.
Anyone who has bought a ticket in the last four years has the opportunity to buy four tickets for the Hampden clash.
SOLD SHORT
Most fans wanting to go to the match will have got a ticket through a Season Ticket holder. There will be some that don’t know a Season Ticket holder but that isn’t likely to be more than a few hundred.
After all the social media boasts it is going to be a big comedown for St Mirren fans when they are allocated another 1,000 or 2,000 tickets.
Taking 10,000 fans to Hampden is a decent achievement, it is 2,000 more than the capacity of the SmiSA stadium.
Almost all Celtic fans in the Home Cup Ticket Scheme should get a ticket in the ballot, additional tickets are likely to be made available to Season Ticket holders.
All in it is looking like there will be around 40,000 Celtic fans at Hampden looking to see their club win the first trophy of the season.
The finalists meet on Saturday in Paisley with Celtic restricted to around 1,700 tickets behind one goal.
Home end tickets are unlikely to sell out but as has been the policy over recent seasons St Mirren prefer empty seats to having fans paying money to be in their stadium.
St. Mirren will feel that they have a good chance to turn Celtic over.
Celtic look decimated, like an army that has just fought a war. Off the park, things also look to be in disarray!
Don’t expect St. Mirren to just turn up, ready to be slaughtered!
I am the best. What have you’s got?
I won!
We need to give St.Mirren total respect for that final for sure and surely we will !
