Despite his multiple honours Callum McGregor celebrated his goal at Hampden on Sunday as if it was his first for the club.
Soon afterwards he was enjoying an actual first as Callum Osmond put the League Cup semi-final out of reach for Danny Rohl’s side. In his second appearance, both of them coming off the bench.
There was so much to like and enjoy about the match at Hampden. One fan came up with an amazing clip just after Celtic’s second goal was scored.
It almost fell as if McGregor ran straight over to the fan with the mobile phone running at the precious moment. Young Osmond certainly seemed to enjoy the moment as well.

The captain has been at the heart of five treble wins since he made his debut in 2014 away to Reykjavik in a Champions League qualifier.

THE MCGREGOR FACTOR
McGregor is much more than a good player. He is a genuine leader, something of a dying art these days with a drive to win that is also becoming rarer.
The season to date hasn’t followed the usual script. Results have been poor, criticism has been valid with the Celtic Fans Collective formed in response to a number of issues.
Much of the time McGregor is thrown to the media as an unofficial club spokesman. Often the issues aren’t related directly to what has happened on the park.
Despite all that McGregor does deliver on the park. Only in one season at Celtic has the club finished without a trophy- the prospect of a repeat seems unlikely with the current captain on board.
All being well McGregor will be back at Hampden next month in the final of the League Cup. St Mirren have a very formidable obstacle to get around if they hope to win their first trophy in a decade.

(could be same Publishing stable): “Massive! Yamada is Doomed”. Just what the Japanese sport followers don’t want to read. Some, plus Press and Clubs don’t want Players going to Celtic FC.
It has been discussed in Japan. Their story has Cal Osmand joining Kenny as preferred strikers. Brave forwards only need a stress here and there to be out for a week or two.
Kenny is very brave. Yamada plays for his country as a striker (CF).
In 2024, he was fourth top- scorer in the J-League with 19 goals. Top-scorer was Anderson Lopes with 24 goals.
MONS and MAL will know he is a talent despite his drop in J-1 form during 2025. They will know how well he performed against Kilmarnock in August, when he played for 58 mins. He ran all the time through defenders and into spaces. Only Dane Murray and another player targeted him.
Yamada has appeared in 3 Premiership games and 1 League Cup. The Japanese say Yamada is faster than Maeda and has equal stamina. Under Mon and Mal, Yamada will hopefully thrive. Kilmarnock game on Sunday. Be there.
