Shortly before the Trinity Tims went on air on Monday night Celtic provided a ‘first team update’. Wilfried Nancy’s appointment isn’t as far down the line as many are claiming.
Despite expectations Wilfried Nancy isn’t on the brink of becoming Celtic manager. Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney are preparing the team for Saturday’s match away to St Mirren.
Myself and Eric have grave reservations about the appointment of Nancy.
Dropping a complete newcomer into Celtic while a perfect storm is brewing seems a risk too far.
PERFECT STORM
A seriously weak squad, a demanding fixture list and growing injury list isn’t the sort of welcome package that anyone would want.
James was more positive, having carried out his homework there appears to be substance to Nancy. He won’t be anyone’s Yes man.
Working with the dysfunctional Celtic board would be a challenge for any manager. Respected names in Europe might like the concept of managing Celtic, the reality is the club is probably best avoided.
AGM 2025
Friday’s AGM was discussed, no-one is expecting worthwhile change but it is the only opportunity to directly make points to the Celtic board.
The Trinity Tims will be back on Friday at 6pm with views and reflections on the AGM. And any managerial developments.
On the pitch Eric and James are confident of a win at St Mirren on Saturday. With my glass half empty it is impossible to see Celtic taking full points from the away days at St Mirren and Hibs.
In less than a year the Trinity Tims has picked up 2,000 subscribers on You Tune. An impressive stat for a weekly show.
Despite the international break the issues around Celtic show no sign of easing up. The delay in appointing a permanent manager highlights the lack of leadership inside the club.
Now on the eve of the AGM, 25 days after the resignation of Rodgers Celtic remain without a manager. Or a comment from their CEO.

I’d have more respect for DD if he attends the AGM tomorrow,
and is invited to speak to the shareholders.
He might be a non-exec, but he’s perceived to be ‘hands on’ with operational matters.
If he’s not there, then that could be another serious error of judgement,
like his emotional, personal statement on the club website…?
There’s a report saying Columbus Crew are saying they haven’t gave Celtic permission to speak to Nancy because there hasn’t been any contact with Celtic at all.
That does NOT surprise me!
They are too busy finding ways to shaft the very fans that fund their huge salaries to be bothered with trivial stuff like finding a manager
Been sitting with their fingers up the jeers for weeks hoping somebody falls into their laps like they always do
The next manager in their view is ………… Maloney. Cheap and manageable!
Anyone scared of living ghosts please avoid tomorrow…
You might see The Ghost of The Late Micheal Nicholson !
I agree and said as much about 3 weeks ago on here. That there would be gossip, chosen press ‘leaks’, and various other ‘squirrels’ but nothing of substance. The strategy (not what I’d call it) would be to struggle/muddle through to the AGM and then back to more of the same shit they’ve been spewing out for 15 years plus. Lawwell’s the poison backed by the Irish golfing leech and unless/until those 2 parasites are ousted it’ll be the same old shit. MN is just an empty jersey/puppet for the other 2, as is McKay. Oust Desmond, hound him out and all the rest will collapse but if it’s only to be replaced by the same ilk, we’re fukked. I had great hopes for the new Collective but without radical and rapid action it will just be another ‘also ran’ like all the other groups. Great Expectations springs to mind. You don’t bring down a toxic regime by firing jelly bullets, regardless of the weapon. “Not Another Penny” is a positive start but we need constant, well thought out leadership and “The Club” which IS the supporters, may just do as our Dear Green Place does and flourish. I dream of it and know it’s possible but apathy has always been our weakness and that has to be weeded out. Positive, radical leadership can work, let’s just hope the new CFC can provide it. HH.
