Two weeks on from alleged assaults of three Celtic staff members there appears to be a complete lack of Police activity towards charging the culprits. Michael Nicholson gave a rare Celtic TV interview revealing the news.
Celtic’s shy and retiring CEO gave the briefest of details on the alleged assaults on December 17, three days after Celtic lost the League Cup Final to St Mirren.
POST LEAGUE CUP FINAL
A few dozen fans turned up to protest outside the main door at Celtic Park but they were kept well away due to the increased security that has recently been in place.
Inside the stadium fans on executive packages, mainly costing £300 plus VAT were having a finger buffet and pay bar.
Discussing the resignation of his mentor and hero as club Chairman, Nicholson told Celtic TV:
I know it’s a decision that weighed heavily on him. It’s not an easy decision but I think he’s made a decision for himself and for his family because of the abuses and because of the threats that they brought towards him.
And those are behaviours that we’ve seen from perhaps a very small minority of the Celtic support, but those are behaviours that are completely unacceptable. We’ve most recently had a situation where three of our colleagues were assaulted at Celtic Park on Sunday night after the match.
And as I say, these behaviours and conduct are completely unacceptable. For me, they’re not Celtic. They’re not values of Celtic supporters and Celtic family.
It seems strange that no action has been taken following the three alleged assaults.
Inside Celtic Park it is hard to imagine that staff are ever isolated. The area outside has heavy CCTV coverage. As does the car park where many very expensive vehicles are left on matchdays.
NO VIDEO RELEASE
Typically there has been no follow up interview from Nicholson. No video footage has been released to help identify the culprits. There hasn’t even been a ‘supporters update’ over the last 12 days announcing suspensions or sanctions.
Nicholson’s interview and claims were heavily covered by Celtic’s media partners such as The Sun, Daily Record, Herald, STV and the Daily Mail.
Two days after the claims of the CEO attention turned to the totally fictitious open blade at Tannadice. Apparently one Celtic fan was leaning over a column of police officers, threatening Celtic directors.
It was of course completely untrue. Celtic have yet to comment on the open blade story.
The media partners that carried the open blade story will be given full access to Wilfried Nancy and media facilities over Friday and Saturday for the Glasgow Derby.

All quiet and no activity by the Police?
That’s because, like the alleged threats against John Beaton, these allegations are lies, concocted by people with no morals, whose sole motivation is their own self aggrandisement and profit at the expense of decent Celtic supporters.
They are a parcel of rogues and need to be hunted.
Ye gets what ye pays for at Celtic these days !
