The Celtic Fans Collective will celebrate Peter Lawwell’s resignation ahead of Sunday’s match at home to Aberdeen.
Down the years the despised former CEO has demonstrated his contempt for Celtic fans at every opportunity.
With his media contacts many stories have been turned against supporters even when there is absolutely no evidence.
Today STV News and the Scottish Sun came up with a story that a blade had been brandished in the direction of Celtic directors in the stand at Tannadice on Wednesday night!
It was of course complete fabrication- or wishful thinking.
The more creative minds on the dark side of social media viewed a long range picture from Tannadice, put 2 and 2 together to come up with 222.
With an index finger being pointed and the fluorescent gear of a police officer, from a distance it did look like a blade was pictured.
Closer inspection cleared the issue up but why waste an opportunity to paint the Celtic support in a bad light. A criminal light.

Today, a newspaper story has even alleged that a supporter brandished a knife at board members during the match against Dundee United. Photographic evidence makes it very clear that this allegation is completely unfounded, and this stands as a ludicrous example of how eager some are to portray the campaign for change as a baying mob. The Celtic Fans Collective is committed to peaceful and principled campaigning to hold our board to account.
From the open letter on September 3 supported by 100 fan groups the Celtic board has near imploded.
The Chairman has walked away leaving a CEO and CFO in place with no presence, respect or clout.
No doubt the dirty tricks will continue, in the eighties or nineties those tactics may have worked.
LAWWELL’S SPIN
In 2025 savvy fans can quickly dismantle the spin and lies- which has pushed Lawwell into resigning as his legacy comes under proper scrutiny.
On the park Celtic are standing by their worst ever manager- Wilfried Nancy.
As soon as Brendan Rodgers resigned Paul Tisdale was moving to bring in the then Columbus Crew coach as successor.
Tisdale has now gone off on holiday while Nancy crumbles under life away from the MLS.
Finding solutions, creating partnerships and long term planning isn’t really suited to Celtic.
Nor is a 3-4-3 formation on a squad decimated by Tisdale’s bespoke analytics.
With one down hopefully the other executives are planning the next part of their career journeys. If they think that the Collective is made up of militant Ultras they’ll be in for a shock on Sunday.
