Incoming Celtic Chairman Brian Wilson is a columnist in the Herald.
The fast fading Glasgow publisher sells around 10,000 copies a day but provides Wilson with a platform for his obsessive dislike of the SNP and the Scottish Government.
Wilson will become Chairman of Celtic on January 1, fans will be looking to see if he communicates as much with them as he does with the Unionist readership of the Herald.
His most recent columns cover moaning about the cost of flights to Glasgow, Scotland’s NHS standards sliding and SNP obsession with being different to England is reaching peak ridiculousness.
That last column could easily be rephrased as ‘Wilson’s SNP obsession reaches peak ridiculousness’.

Having someone so hostile to the Scottish Government as Chairman isn’t going to help Celtic. SNP is in power in both Glasgow and Holyrood, they are on course for another resounding victory at the Scottish Parliament elections in May.
By any assessment the NHS in Scotland is in better condition than in England. Wilson’s Labour Government have forced Junior Doctors into strike action in England, there is no strikes from Junior Doctors in Scotland.
Wilson has been a non-executive Director at Celtic since 2005, a period in which Celtic have failed to win a single UEFA knock-out tie.
Celtic Park hasn’t changed in any way since Wilson became a non-executive Director. Outside of the executive areas of the South Stand there is no hot running water. There are two ladies toilets in the 8,000 seater stand.
Currently Celtic sit in 58th place in the UEFA co-efficient table, watching on as Copenhagen, Club Brugge, Pafos, Qarabag and Kairat Almaty compete in the Champions League.
In the absence of any sign of discontent we have to assume that Wilson fully backs the October 27 statement from Dermot Desmond attacking Brendan Rodgers.
The manager that won 12 points in last season’s Champions League has been replaced by the coach of the seventh best team in the Eastern Conference of the MLS.
Wilson came up with a work of fiction in the Guardian following the death of Walter Smith.

Dunno about the Herald as I do not read any rags any more but he does have a weekly article in the Scotsman. And to think he is the guy who started the radical West Highland Free Press. From anti establishment to jumping aboard the gravy train. Dear oh dear.
Correct me if I’m wrong,Joe…do i detect a modicum of discontent in your writings and general attitude towards our board?
Just think of all the money we’ve got,and still you’re not happy?
I may or may not have said this with a hint of sarcasm.
Editor: You just might be onto something there…
Wilson was a hard nosed Politician long before he was allowed to have a seat at the Celtic boardroom table . Torn faced was one-way I heard him being described as an MP . It’s amazing how some people do not mellow with age …this guy is the prime example of that ! If Wilson informed me that today was a cold Sunday in December , I’d be a bit on the sceptical side ! How sad is that ?
Stonehenge has seen better improvements than Celtic Park since Brian Wilson helped to build it in the Neolithic period.
