At lunchtime on Sunday Kris Boyd was confident that Danny Rohl’s side would take at least a point from Hearts.
He left Tynecastle clutching an XXXXL sized Hearts top with Boyd on the back.
At the start of the season Boyd tipped Russell Martin to take the SPFL Premiership title to Ibrox.
On Saturday Motherwell go to Ibrox a point clear of the 2012 Tribute Act.
BOYD AND HIS NEVER ENDING MISERY
A decade into his media career Boyd has known nothing but almost non-stop misery. The highlight for him was the Lockdown season. When he celebrated victories in empty stadiums as if it was meaningful.
On the back of some honest mistakes Rohl took his squad to Tynecastle, ready to get within striking distance of the top two.
It is the hope that kills them. By mid-afternoon on Sunday Boyd was back to playing the role of Village Idiot, the only job that he is over qualified for. Ho, ho, ho what a character he is.
Rambling to The Sun today he moaned:
Can you remember a Rangers team that’s got a lack of creativity like this one? I can’t.
Mikey Moore has been moved in the pitch and he’s done well.
For me, Rangers are an injury for Mikey Moore away from total collapse.
There’s nothing there to create opportunities. They look like a bang average team that play for corner kicks, that play for set plays, that play for long throw-ins.
There is no creativity in the Rangers team right now.
I think when you look at the back three when it’s set up – fine, fair enough if you’ve got two players in the wide areas.”
But Max Aarons and Jayden Meghoma, it ends up just becoming a back five because they don’t get forward.
The midfield three yesterday, they were fine. They made little passes, they move about.
After that, when you’re saying the engine room, that’s where games are won and lost.
You’ve got to get in there and tackle, you’ve got to get up on the ball.
I didn’t see it from Diomande, I didn’t see it from Raskin, I didn’t see it from Barron.
You’ve got to say Hearts bullied them in the end. They looked far stronger and that shouldn’t be the case.
We’re fed up repeating ourselves but Rangers’ recruitment in the summer was diabolical. There’s no getting away from it.
Boyd has no escape from the pain and misery of his favourite club.
Sky Sports are covering games non-stop through the festive break with his emotions now invested in Hearts.
Rohl is the fourth manager this year. There is nothing to suggest that he is going to be more successful than the low benchmarks set by Phil Clement, Barry Ferguson and Martin.
Most Scottish football fans would prefer to see competent discussion on the Scottish game. In the absence of that we can all enjoy the miseries that Boydy is suffering through.
Boyd’s season of misery started with a 1-1 draw away to Motherwell in August. With a Vegan Buddhist in the dug-out.
Now he has a German in a suit, wearing brogues with a group of players going nowhere fast. And Boyd knows how this one ends, he has witnessed it plenty of times.

It won’t be long until Danny Boy is led into the blue room to sup from the loving cup.
An article tonight in the daily with Failure Ferguson and quotes of £40 million that’s been spent already.
No idea what happened to £40 million but it wasn’t on players.
But apparently there is still more money for players in January.
We really need to focus on ourselves.
One win doesn’t alter the issues Celtic face.
We’ve sold FORTY goals out of the team this season.
If we had forwards with confidence and quality Aberdeen would have been on the end of a hammering on Sunday.
There is no guarantee that this will be rectified in January.
I’d say by not spending in that fuckin DISGUSTING summertime window that Daddy, Lucan and Sly were Void Boyd’s bestest buddies !
