Chris Sutton sent his sympathy to Wilfried Nancy after Celtic’s League Cup Final defeat to St Mirren.
Despite winning just three out of 15 matches in the Premiership the Paisley side were well worth their 3-1 victory.
NANCY WALKS INTO STORM
It was defeat number three for Nancy with storm clouds brewing over Celtic Park.
Martin O’Neill required five days notice to take Celtic to a League Cup semi-final victory. Apparently providing the ideal handover for his successor.
Nothing went right for Nancy today.
After 90 seconds St Mirren were in the lead as Celtic lost a goal from a corner for the third successive match.
Reo Hatate equalised in the 23rd minute but two goals midway through the second half sent Celtic, and Nancy to defeat.

Sutton had been highly critical of Russell Martin earlier this season. Nancy seems to be getting more sympathy given the circumstances that he has walked into.
The former Columbus Crew manager had five weeks to weigh up the Celtic job. He accepted it on a contract until May 2028.
GOING FORWARD
Whether Sutton likes it or not there are serious doubts over whether Nancy will survive as the ‘perfect’ storm engulfs Celtic.
When Nancy was appointed as manager Celtic were level on points with Hearts in the SPFL Premiership table.
On Wednesday a deflated squad go to Dundee United looking to avoid a fourth successive defeat. Jim Goodwin watched today’s match for Premier Sports.
Topping off the multitude of issues facing Celtic Kelechi Iheanacho suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury during the first half. Another lengthy absence can be expected.
Right now Celtic badly need leadership. Sadly that quality has been posted missing for some time.
Dermot Desmond appeared to blame Brendan Rodgers for the problems at Celtic, under the permanent successor to the former Liverpool boss things have gone downhill quickly.

Mostly a pretty horrible watch again today and I don’t blame Nancy at all.
Someone here, or on another Tim site, mentioned a few days ago that bringing in Nancy with those 3 games coming up was insanity and I concur.
We were a touch unfortunate not to score at least twice in the 1st half and Reo’s goal from Tierney’s fine cross was a highlight. But the decision making from Schmeichel was woeful and he wasn’t alone in that. And Kenny? FFS, he’s hopeless and got caught in possession for their 2nd. Only other bright spot was the state of Lawwell at the end. I just hope it’s not a false dawn and turns out to be nothing trivial.

Nancy is a dud
Moneyball is great when you get the odd diamond or two, make profit and take the plaudits.
What we are seeing now is Moneyball when it goes tits up.
When you end up with a plethera of cheap buys with great stats but in reality, when the chips are down, just don’t cut the mustard.
We have a squad full of statistical potential, unfortunately potential don’t win games never mind cup finals.
That’s on the suits all day long.
And I don’t, for one minute, believe WN is the man to challenge their authority on players.
This experiment will continue, this managed decline to keep money in the bank and simultaneously keep Sevco relevant will continue, the suits brass necks will continue.
The ONLY way to get real change is empty seats.
The suits simply cannot survive live TV games with empty stadiums.

The crazy thing though? This team, this club that appears to be in turmoil, is level on points at the top of the league if we win our game in hand…..think about that…..we have been absolutely shit all season and still have kept pace with a so called Hearts on fire and miles in front of the mighty Sevco.

Editor: If he survives to January he will get more Tisdale signings. Cheaper versions of Yamada, Inamura, Balikwisha and Tounekti. I can’t see Man City allowing anyone to come in on loan.
Surely signing Scottish lads would be better than all these fuckin foreign duds and wage thieving bastards !
