Charlie Mulgrew has claimed that there is already a disconnect between Wilfried Nancy and Celtic.
The new manager has been in charge for three matches, three defeats with a majority of fans wanting to sack the Frenchman.
It is an incredible turn of events. Celtic ended November with a win away to Feyenoord and on a winning run domestically.
MULGREW’S OVERVIEW
Mulgrew is generally regarded as over sympathetic to the Celtic board. Earlier this season he was praising the transfer ‘model’ claiming that it was the envy of Europe.
Over the course of eight days Derek McInnes and Stephen Robinson have demolished that illusion.
On Sunday Mulgrew was on media duty for Premier Sports, directly behind the expanded Celtic Technical Area.
He watched closely how the manager and backroom team interacted with the players and substitutes.
On his podcast with Kevin Thomson Mulgrew painted a troubled picture of life under Nancy.
I go from thinking the guy needs time, now I’m thinking that’s 12 days he’s been in the job roughly – a lot’s happened in that 12 days, it feels like about six months.
I think that it could be time up. I don’t know how he comes back from it, that’s my whole thing.
It’s only 12 days – my feeling I got standing just behind the dugout was I don’t feel there’s a connection.
There’s not a connection between the fans and the board at the minute, there’s a bit of disconnect in the club.
But what was running alongside that was a connection between Martin O’Neill and the fans and the staff and the players.”
Now, I feel like that’s disconnected and it needs to be sorted quickly.
There are many video clips showing that the disconnect is real.
DRESSING ROOM DISCONNECT
At the final whistle on Sunday there was the briefest of acknowledgements between Nancy and Callum McGregor. There appears to be no rapport between the manager and captain.
The clips of Kieran Tierney being substituted adds to the confusion and concern. Stevie Woods was involved, there are a number of rumours and messaging that the goalkeeping coach being ostracised by the new management.
Today Nancy will host a media conference to preview the match against Dundee United. A player will be expected to appear to talk up all things involving the new manager.
With the dug-out, away support and Directors all housed in the same area at Tannadice Wednesday’s match has the makings of a perfect storm.
Should Wilfried Nancy be sacked by Celtic?
YES: He is miles short of what is needed
NO: Give him time, he is on the right lines

It’s heartbreaking that Martin actually wanted the job. I just assumed he didn’t. Mulgrew would have observed Nancy at close range on Sunday to running about that technical area like a crazy person.
If Martin wanted the job why didnt he put himself forward then?.?? LLotashite
Desmond told him to hold the fort for 2 weeks or 2months till nancy was ready.
Think Stevie! The Board already knew he would like the job, but the fans also said they would like him to get the job. The board could see his immense popularity with the fans and they had already decided on Nancy. Martin also knew this and would noy want to cause trouble.
noy – should be not
Mulgrew may just have realised the fans are right and there’s nothing in it for him supporting the board. No point in labouring the obvious so it P45s for Christmas for the board, and most of the football Dept including a lot of the players who are as clueless as the manager
The board won’t turn up at Tannadice Park the fans will, but for how much longer ?
All you’ll see tomorrow night is the c*nts sitting playing on their phones
Mulgrew is a board a*se licker
Not that I listen much to what the bumbling stammering cunt (Mulgrew) says, but he’s pretty much bang on the money with that ascertation regarding Nancy Boy…
Defeat tomorrow night and surely he’s gone, gone gone !
Dont care what mulgrew says, idiot. That martin has said what he did on one hand pissez me off on the other it means that he is because nancey really did diss on maloney in front of players who really really are pissed.
