In more than four years as CEO Michael Nicholson has given just one interview to club media.
The day after Wilfried Nancy was appointed as manager Nicholson gave a feeble four minute interview to Gerry McCulloch on Celtic TV.
Typically there was nothing of substance delivered. It summed up the commitment of the CEO to fan engagement.
NICHOLSON- THE INVISIBLE CEO
During a pre-recorded interview given at the aborted 2025 AGM Nicholson revealed details of a new app and upgrade for Celtic TV. The club is also looking at a membership scheme to extract more money from supporters.
Communication from Nicholson has been non-existent.
Recently he has been on a mission to kill the atmosphere at Celtic Park by chasing out the Green Brigade.
Three ‘supporter updates’ were issued during November resulting in an indefinite ban for the Ultras group. The evidence is around 80 fans leaving their position to visit the stadium concourse.
Reacting to the resignation of Chairman Lawwell, Nicholson decided to again turn on the fans that provide him with an £850,000 a year lifestyle.
The club CEO told the Celtic website:
We are hugely disappointed that Peter is standing down as Chairman, particularly in these circumstances.
This is a sad day for Celtic. The abuse and threats directed towards Peter, and the impact on his family, are completely unacceptable. Such conduct will never be tolerated by the Club.
I hope that there will be respect for Peter’s privacy and family life moving forward, and I wish Peter and his family all the best for the future.
Hopefully Nicholson will soon be following his hero and mentor out the door at Celtic.
Without a strong manager like Ange Postecoglou or Brendan Rodgers to cover up for multiple failings the weaknesses of the club have been fully exposed.
Tonight at Tannadice the Celtic support will be in the Jerry Kerr (Main) Stand. Very close to Nicholson in the Directors Box. Today’s website announcement is the best of the season for many supporters.
The news this afternoon has given the fans a great Christmas boost. Nicholson and Chairman-to-be Brian Wilson will hear all about it tonight.

In these circumstances, the CEO of a plc could/should take advantage,
and offer some conciliatory noises to his paying customers.
