The Celtic Fans Collective held another visual and effective protest at Easter Road on Sunday.

Again, Peter Lawwell and Ross Desmond had more important things to do than watch their beloved team.

Those two brought the 2025 AGM to a close, since then there hasn’t been a word since about when the AGM will be rearranged.

FATHER AND SON

The attack on the fans by Desmond Junior closed a door at Celtic. Many fans thought that there might be fresh hope in a new generation of the family. Fat chance of that, Desmond Junior has all of his father’s traits without having any business success to back him up.

The attack on the fans has further galvanised backing for the Celtic Fans Collective. Undecided fans discovered what the board really thought about those pesky, entitled customers.

Celtic fans are in this for the long haul. Effective protests have been made. Michael Nicholson put in a horrific performance at a meeting with fans on October 6. It was no surprise that Lawwell pulled the plug on the AGM before Nicholson was destroyed by a Q and A.

The red card protest from the AGM continued at Easter Road on Sunday.

A Celtic statement claimed that the AGM was disrupted by 40 members of the Green Brigade and Celtic Trust. There were far more dissenters and hecklers. Anti-establishment types.

HECKLERS AND MALCONTENTS

Among the reduced away support on Sunday around half waved red cards as the teams emerged from the tunnel.

Nicholson and Chris McKay didn’t want to look to their right. They prefer the small talk and back slapping of their cronies.

On Sunday the Green Brigade will hold their annual Food Bank collection. It will be backed up by a march from St Mary’s led by the Celtic Fans Collective.

Again it will be visual and effective. Largely overlooked by legacy media outlets which confirms the impact that they are making.

With December underway the Not Another Penny campaign is achieving maximum impact. Confirmation of that is the amount of advertising that Celtic are taking out plus abandoning their annual heart-tugging festive video.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.

Note that it is the Green Brigade organising the food bank as usual – NOT Celtic FC. I readily and willingly contribute to this, but I no longer buy any official merchandise.
It is typical. Ordinary fans do the good work, which benefits society, while the board sneer disdainfully from their comfortable positions and are never slow to try to take some of the credit.
Jock Stein recognised fans, God rest him, but I am sure he would not have recognised this board.
The hypocritical board is ESTABLISHMENT, the club was born ANTI-ESTABL:ISHMENT.

  • Clachnacuddin and the Hoops says:

Good The Green Brigade are fundraising for sure…

But not sure they should be getting Celtic fines in Europe…

Then again – It’s minimal when you see what Lucan steals from the club !

  • Bob (original) says:

The remaining silence from the CEO and Chairman since the abandoned AGM is simply disgraceful.

They are the highly paid ‘professionals’ whose job it is to find a resolution to this standoff with

‘the paying customers of a plc’.

And, the fact that no member of the full Board has chosen to resign since the summer

suggests that they are all hindered by groupthink?

“Whit resign? Jump aff the ‘Gravy train’ aye right I should’
